Job Purpose / Contribute to the delivery of a high quality customer focused service, act as budget advisor to specific budget managers and contribute to the production of the company’s budget and accounts.

Main Duties and Responsibilities
1.Act as a designated budget advisor to a number of budget managers
  • Provide key financial support and advice, ensuring accuracy of the financial management information
  • Provide information to aid budget managers & directors in decision making
  • Working with managers to identify and implement efficiencies and value for money initiatives
  • Working with managers to provide monthly forecast figures, carry out variance analysis and identify and resolve any discrepancies.
  • Provide ad hoc financial information for special projects as and when required
2.Prepare the monthly STH budget monitoring reports for managers in designated areas and contribute to the preparation of overall annual STH budgetin conjunction with business managers ensuring all income and expenditure is considered
3.Contribute to the production of the company’s accounts carrying out year end processes in order to comply with statutory requirements and deadlines.
4.Prepare reconciliations of appropriate STH control accounts to maintain a sound system of financial control.
5.Prepare statutory government returns for submission to comply with statutory requirements and deadlines.

6.Provide financial analysis and accountancy support including assisting in the continuous improvement of the procedures and services provided by the Financial Services Team including:
•Income Co-ordination
•Rent Accounting
•HRA accounting
•House Sales
•Procurement and Value For Money support
•New Business appraisal
7.Auditing service areas; identifying and recommending areas for improvement to ensure greater scrutiny and adherence to company financial regulations and procedures.
8.Record, validate and reconcile monthly salary payments in order to maintain an effective and accurate salaries monitoring system for forecasting and costing purposes.
9.Administer the STH mobile phone contract, order and distribute mobile phone equipment.
10. Provide cover for the Finance Assistant duties as and when required in order to ensure customers receive a consistent level of service at all times.
