SENIORS: Remember to fill out and submit admissions applications to the school you are planning to attend so that your name will be in the database and the school can mail you scholarship applications. The “big money” will come from the universities/technical schools and the state and federal government. Be sure to meet all deadlines.

Students can mail most scholarships or complete the scholarship applications online, but a few have to be mailed by the school. Check with Mrs. Kelley if the list below does not indicate and you need to know. Please remember to continue to check the scholarship shelf for new scholarship listings. A new list is posted every few weeks.

SunTrust Off to College Scholarship Sweepstakes- High school seniors can win a $500 scholarship for their first year expenses at an accredited college or private career school. It is free to enter and eligibility is not based on GPA or financial need. One winner will be chosen every two weeks from October 31, 2016 through May 15, 2017.

Elks Emergency Educational Grants- One-year educational grants available to children of deceased or totally disabled Elks. See the website for additional information.

The Tennessee STEP UP Scholarship- This is a program designed to assist students with intellectual disabilities who have completed high school and enroll in a two-year individualized program at an eligible postsecondary institution. Students must have had an IEP while in high School. For further information and complete details see (When you get to the website click “Money for College” and then click “Scholarships.” Eligible postsecondary institutions and programsfor the STEP UP Scholarship include: Lipscomb University IDEAL Program, University of Memphis TigerLIFE, University of Tennessee UT FUTURE, and Vanderbilt University Next Steps.

The Stan and Thelma Plumlee Scholarship-If you live in a manufactured home or you work or have a relative who works in the Manufactured Housing Industry, you may be eligible for this scholarship. Bethel University Scholarship- Bethel University has a wide range of scholarships. Students should apply for admissions as soon as possible to be considered for scholarships. Information on Bethel University scholarships is available online at .

Jackson State Community College Scholarships-for seniors planning to attend Jackson State. Seniors who apply for these scholarships must submit an admissions application to Jackson State and be accepted. All applications with additional information are available on the Scholarship Shelf or online at Click on JSCC Scholarships.

1. Academic Service Scholarship- must have a 3.0 GPA or higher and have an ACT composite score of 19 or above to apply. Students need to mail applications in time to be received by the March 15, 2017 deadline.

2. JSCC Foundation Scholarship Application-These scholarships are for students planning to major in special areas. A complete listing of the available scholarships is on the back of the application. Students need to mail this application in time to be received by the March 15, 2017 deadline.

Dependent Children’s Scholarship Program-For dependent children of law enforcement officers, firemen, or emergency medical technicians who were killed or permanently disabled in the line of duty while employed in Tennessee. Abbott and Fenner Scholarship Program - $1000 Scholarship Deadline: June 12, 2017

State Farm Good Neighbor Scholarship Program – REGISTRATION BEGINS January 15, 2017 at Open tohigh school senior who plans to enroll in a 2-year or 4-year accredited college, university or technical school. Must have a cumulative GPA of 2.50 to 3.20. Must be a U. S. Citizen and must demonstrate need. Deadline for application is March 2, 2017.

Bethel University Renaissance Scholarship- Seniors planning to attend Bethel University who are interested in being a part of the Renaissance Program should apply. The Renaissance Program involves Vocal, Theatrical and Instrumental positions. Search the web for or call (731)352-6980 to schedule an audition.

Kohl’s Kids Who Care Scholarship Program rewards young volunteers ages 6-18 who help make their communities better. A detailed description of actions performed in the last 12 months which made a positive impact on others outside of family is part of the application process. Entry deadline is March 13, 2017. Aspiring Animation Professional Scholarship ( )

VFW Young American Creative Patriotic Art Awards: Win up to $10,000. The deadline is March 31, 2017. See scholarship board for more info.

Stop Texting & Driving Scholarship: The law firm of Raybin & Weissman offer an annual scholarship contest to Stop Texting and Driving. Students will create videos that help in the fight against distracted driving and needless car accident injuries. A total of 3 $1,000 scholarships will be awarded. The Shire 2015 ADHD Scholarship Program- This scholarship is intended for US residents of any age accepted to or enrolled in an undergraduate program at an accredited two-year or four-year college, university, vocational school or technical school that have been diagnosed with Attention-Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) and are under the care of a licensed health care provider for ADHS. MigVapor Scholarship: Mig Vapor is offering $3,000 scholarships to students who help bring awareness to the dangers of smoking. The recipients are selected through an essay contest. The deadline for Fall 2017 isMay 31st 2017. See for more info.

UTK School of Music Auditions: Auditions for entry to the School of Music for Fall 2017: February 11 & 18, 2017--Auditions for the Pride of the Southland Marching Band - Non-music majors ONLY: February 25 and March 4, 2017. You must have already applied to UTK to be eligible to audition.

The Community Foundation of Middle Tennessee Scholarship: Whether pursuing education in law or horticulture; planning a career in criminal justice or teaching; or studying at a technical school or four-year university, The Community Foundation’s scholarship program supports individuals from various backgrounds and communities seeking funding for educational opportunities. Rolling Thunder – Tennessee VI Scholarship: $1,000 available to all students who are dependents of an active duty member of the US military or, is the dependent of an honorably discharged member of the US Military. See Scholarship board for application. Deadline: April 25, 2017

Charles and Bettye Moore Scholarship: Must have been born and reared in Sharon, TN to be eligible. Deadline is March 1, 2017. See Scholarship board for application.

James and Donna Westbrook Family Scholarship: to be eligible, you must be planning to attend UTM and have a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher. See scholarship board for application. Deadline: March 1, 2017

Hampton Foundation Scholarship: $1,500 per academic year for 4 years. You must be in the top 10% of your class and in need of financial assistance. If you are interested, Please see Mrs. Kelley. Deadline: April 15, 2017

Moran Scholarship: Must be a member of a church, have at least a B average throughout high school, and in need of financial assistance. See scholarship board for application. Deadline is March 1, 2017.

FMY Orthodontics Scholarship: will award a total of $2,000 in college scholarships divided between 1-3 seniors. Must be currently or have been an orthodontic patient of FMY Orthodontics, maintain a B average, have above average attendance, a minimum of 12 hours of community service during senior year, and in financial need. See scholarship board for instructions. Deadline: April 3, 2017.

Kaci Bailey Scholarship: $500 scholarship. Open to any female who is graduating from Dresden High School and accepted to a higher learning institution. See scholarship board for application. Deadline: April 13, 2017

Upper Cumberland Angus Association/ Tommy Burks Memorial Scholarship: giving to college students who exhibit genuine interest in cattle production and agriculture. Recipients will receive $2,000. See Scholarship board for more info. Deadline is March 15, 2017.
