OPPORTUNITY TO SPONSOR STUDENTS TO TAKE PART IN 2015 TARGET KIDS TEACHING KIDS WEEK

To promote and encourage community involvement in the future health of our natural resources we are proudly taking part in 2015 Target Kids Teaching Kids Week, 7th – 11th September. Last year over 12,000 students in every state and territory across the country took part in the program which resulted in hundreds of environmental workshops being delivered and many positive hands on actions being taken.

In 2010 the Kids Teaching Kids program won the prestigious Banksia Environmental People’s Choice Award which was fantastic recognition for students, teachers, volunteers and sponsors of the program. Media coverage for Kids Teaching Kids programs has been endless since the first event ran in 1999. Over the last thirteen years more than 97,000 students from around Australia have taken part in Kids Teaching Kids programs.

More than just a single event, students connect with industry mentors and natural resource management (NRM) teachers to study topics of their choice (i.e. land management, water quality, cultural heritage connections with the environment, climate change, biodiversity etc). Students work with industry mentors for many months prior to the event to research environmental issues and then deliver interactive presentations to their peers. In the past various organisations across the country have taken on mentoring roles to ensure students are working with current information. The students then come together to teach each other about what they have learnt. So it is kids presenting to kids and also making recommendations as to how they would like to be involved in NRM in their regions now and into the future.

We would like your help so our school and region can take part in this fantastic event and I would like to invite you and your organisation to become a sponsor of our school.

We are seeking support to cover the workshop materials/ transportation to bring schools to and from the event/ catering of lunch required for our event. In return for your support your logo will be displayed on the website and we will display your logo during our Kids Teaching Kids event.
