Matters Arising

  • Patient Access Online – GE will provide PPG members with access details.
  • GE has not had any further contact from Healthwatch Slough.
  • Cherylhas obtained another NAPP poster for display.
  • Medicines Optimisation Fund – the Practice has used the monies as part payment towards a new self-check-in screen for patients. This will allow patients to check themselves in for appointments without having to queue and wait at the Reception desk. This should improve arrivals at the surgery for patients and reception staff. In response to a question, GE confirmed the remainder of the cost of the screen was paid for by the Practice.

It is hoped to develop use of the screen in the future to include the ability to take Friends & Family Test feedback from patients.

  1. PPG Patient Survey – February 2017

Since the last meeting, the PPG repeat Patient Survey has been moved to w/c 13th February but on discussion, due to the half-term holidays, it was agreed to further move the Survey to w/c 20th February 2017.

GE provided a repeat survey example together with an additional page of “improvement” questions which Members requested previously. The additional questions were agreed.

GE has had agreement from Ryan Dunstan at the CCG Quality Dept. to collate the results independent of the Practice.

Members were to inform Cheryl of when they are available to attend and carry out the survey. Agreed to print 80 copies of survey with an aim of getting at least 50 responses.

  1. Practice Update

GE gave a brief staffing update. 2 new receptionists (Cheryl and Aamina) have been recruited and started work with us on 1st February 2017.

There is no further progress on GP recruitment.

The new, main office is now fully functioning with further desks and computers in place.

Any other business

Simple Words Project.

Dr Sharma explained the Practice had committed to the Simple Words Project which was one of the components of the original Prime Ministers Challenge Fund project. Dr Sharma explained the concept of the programme and how this would be circulated within the Practice in due course.
