OVERVIEW

MX will be participating in the FIA Industry Wide Disaster Recovery Exercise on Saturday October 23 2010.The FIA tests will allow the Futures participants to connect to the MX production network (IP & ports) from the Futures Participant’s Disaster Recovery environment. MX will redirect the Future Participants to the MX Recovery environment.

The TMX recovery team will be utilizing the TMX Internal Backup Facility (TCF) to recover the critical business processes.Firms will be able verify connectivity and can send/receive messages. Firms will not be required to make network, DNS, or IP changes in order to connect to the MX DR site during the Ping Test or the FIA DR Test.

PING TEST PROCEDURES

It will be necessary for Futures Participants to connect to the MX Production environment via the MX production network and using production credentials, regardless of the MX Participant’s environment.

As part of the TMX policies PING testing is not permitted and therefore all clients will need to connect to the MX DR systems in order to test connectivity. The TMX recovery team will recover the critical systems at the DR site on Saturday September 25, 2010 and change the NAT settings from production to DR in order to betransparent to the participants.

Participants can test connectivity through the following services:

  • FIX : Initial connection accepted. No orders accepted
  • FIXTT : Initial connection accepted. No orders accepted
  • SAIL FE : Initial connection accepted. No orders accepted
  • HSFV : Participants will be able to connect and retrieve the dictionary of symbols

NOTE:Due to project schedules and Ping policies,MX will only be able to conduct one connectivity (PING) test on September 25, 2010.

DR TEST PROCEDURES

It will be necessary for Futures Participants to connect to the MX Production environment via the MX production network and using production credentials, regardless of the MX Participant’s environment.

MX encourages Future participants to operate as if it were a normal business day during the testing. MX will ensure that sufficient market support exists in terms of price and quantity available for Future Participants orders.

NOTE:

MX Markets will be in Pre-Opening state. This will happen at approximately 8:30am EDT

–No trades will occur during the Pre-Opening period

–MX Market test are completely automated

The market will open 9:30 AM EDT

–Orders must be entered with a October 23, 2010 Trade Date (day orders only)

–Broadcast of orders transmitted to firms via SOLA Trading protocols (HSVF, ATR)

–MX will process trades and send execution/fill reports back to Futures Participants

–MX will ensure that no trades performed during testing hours will be sent to CDCC

–All participants MUST clean up all backend system data after testing

–CDCC will not be participating in FIA DR Test
