*1. ACCEPT THE RESIGNATION OF LAURA WILLIAMS, GUIDANCE COUNSELOR, DOVER HIGH SCHOOL, EFFECTIVE AUGUST 9, 2010:

It is recommended by Michael Tierney, Superintendent of Schools, to accept the resignation of Laura Williams, Guidance Counselor, Dover High School, effective August 9, 2010, for retirement purposes. Laura has been with the district since 9/1/1994.

*2. APPROVE APPOINTMENT OF KELLY TOZZI, GUIDANCE COUNSELOR, DOVER HIGH SCHOOL, EFFECTIVE SEPTEMBER 1, 2010:

It is recommended by Michael Tierney, Superintendent of Schools, to approve the appointment of Kelly Tozzi, Guidance Counselor, Dover High School, effective September 1, 2010.

It is recommended by Michael Tierney, Superintendent of Schools, to accept the request to extend child-rearing leave for Michelle Penik, Biology Teacher, Dover High School, until

January 31, 2011.

*7. APPROVE THE APPOINTMENT OF NICOLE ALTIERI, LONG-TERM SUBSTITUTE FOR MICHELLE PENIK, HS SCIENCE TEACHER, DOVER HIGH SCHOOL, EFFECTIVE SEPTEMBER 1, 2010 THROUGH FEBRUARY 1, 2011:

*8. APPROVE A REQUEST FOR CHILD-REARING LEAVE FROM TESSA SETARO, ELEMENTARY TEACHER, DOVER ELEMENTARY SCHOOL, EFFECTIVE APPROXIMATELY SEPTEMBER 9, 2010 THROUGH NOVEMBER 15, 2010:

It is recommended by Michael Tierney, Superintendent of Schools, to approve a request for child-rearing leave for Tessa Setaro, Elementary Teacher, Dover Elementary School, effective approximately September 9, 2010 through November 15, 2010. It is her intention to work up until her delivery date. At that time, she will use her accumulated sick time (30 days for normal delivery and 40 days for a c-section). In addition to her 6 or 8 weeks, she is requesting 15 days of unpaid child-rearing leave.

*9. APPROVE A REQUEST FOR CHILD-REARING LEAVE FROM REBEKAH KERMANI, ENGLISH TEACHER, DOVER HIGH SCHOOL, EFFECTIVE APPROXIMATELY OCTOBER 13, 2010 UNTIL SEPTEMBER, 2011.

It is recommended by Michael Tierney, Superintendent of Schools, to approve a request for child-rearing leave for Rebekah Kermani, English Teacher, Dover High School, effective approximately October 13, 2010 until September, 2011.

*10 APPROVE A REQUEST FOR CHILD-REARING LEAVE FROM KRISTIE ARNOLD, ELEMENTARY SCHOOL TEACHER, WINGDALE ELEMENTARY SCHOOL, EFFECTIVE SEPTEMBER 1, 2010 UNTIL OCTOBER 18, 2010:

It is recommended by Michael Tierney, Superintendent of Schools, to approve a request for child-rearing leave from Kristie Arnold, Elementary School Teacher, Wingdale Elementary School, effective September 1, 2010 until October 18, 2010.

It is recommended by Michael Tierney, Superintendent of Schools, to accept the resignation of Christine Nugent, Dover High School Nurse, effective September 1, 2010.


*2. ACCEPT THE RESIGNATION OF ADELE KRICHEFF, DOVER UNION FREE SCHOOL DISTRICT SPEECH/LANGUAGE PATHOLOGIST, EFFECTIVE AUGUST 1, 2010:

It is recommended by Michael Tierney, Superintendent of Schools, to accept the resignation of Adele Kricheff, Dover Union Free School District Speech/Language Pathologist, effective

August 1, 2010, for retirement purposes.

*3. APPROVE CHANGE IN EFFECTIVE DATE FOR ROBIN TATE, CONFIDENTIAL TYPIST AND DISTRICT REGISTRAR, FROM JULY 14, 2010 TO JULY 1, 2010:

It is recommended by Michael Tierney, Superintendent of Schools, to approve the change in effective date for Robin Tate, Confidential Typist and District Registrar, from July 14, 2010 to July 1, 2010.

*4. APPROVE RECOMMENDATION OF RHONDA VINCI AS 12-MONTH TYPIST AT DOVER HIGH SCHOOL, EFFECTIVE AUGUST 19, 2010:

It is recommended by Michael Tierney, Superintendent of Schools, to approve the recommendation to move Rhonda Vinci from 10-month typist at Dover Elementary School to 12-month typist at Dover High School in the Guidance Department.

Salary: $27,207.00/year pro-rated

Benefits: Remain in effect as per Non-Instructional CSEA Contract

C. OTHER BUSINESS:

*1. APPROVAL OF COMMITTEE ON SPECIAL EDUCATION RECOMMENDATIONS:

It is recommended by Michael Tierney, Superintendent of Schools, that the following resolution be adopted:

Upon the determination after review by the Dover District committee on Special Education, and with parental notification and consent, the following students shall be placed in Special Education programs, as outlined in Attachment: #081710-01.

Names of students are on file in Office of Special Education, however, in accordance with Provisions of the Family Education Rights and Privacy Act of 1976, as amended, the Dover Union Free School District shall maintain the confidentiality of pupil records.

*2. APPROVAL OF FOOD SERVICE BID AWARDS:

It is recommended by Michael Tierney, Superintendent of Schools, to approve the Food Service Bid awards for the 2010-2011 school year, as listed in Attachment No. 081710-02.

*3. RECOMMENDATION TO AUTHORIZE 2.75% INCREASE TO THE STAFF OF BEFORE AND AFTER SCHOOL CHILD CARE PROGRAM:

It is recommended by Michael Tierney, Superintendent of Schools, to authorize 2.75% increases to the staff of the Before and After School Child Care Program.


*4. RECOMMENDATION TO TRANSFER FUNDS:

·  It is recommended by Michael Tierney, Superintendent of Schools, to transfer $3,287.52 from the Unemployment Reserve to the General Fund Unreserved Fund Balance effective 6/30/2010.

·  It is recommended by Michael Tierney, Superintendent of Schools, to transfer $60,000 from the General Fund to the School Lunch Fund effective 6/30/2010.

*5. RECOMMENDATION TO APPROVE NEW TEXTBOOK SERIES:

It is recommended by Michael Tierney, Superintendent of Schools, to approve the adoption of the following new textbook series (Attachment #081710-03):

·  Middle School – Grades 6, 7, 8: “Science Explorer 2009”, Pearson Education

·  High School – A/P Class: “Chemistry – Central Science”, Pearson Education

*6. RECOMMENDATION TO APPROVE THE CHANGE ORDER WITH EVERFOAM INSULATION:

It is recommended by Michael Tierney, Superintendent of Schools, to approve the Change Order with Everfoam Insulation in the amount of $48,683.00 for the Middle/High School portion of the Excel Project (Attachment #081710-04).

*7. VOIDING RESOLUTION SETTING THE STANDARD WORK DAY FOR DISTRICT APPOINTED OFFICIALS:

It is recommended by Michael Tierney, Superintendent of Schools, to void the resolution setting the standard work day for District appointed officials (Attachment No. 071310-06).

*8. RECOMMENDATION TO APPROVE THE EXTRA-CURRICULAR COACHING/ADVISORY ASSIGNMENTS FOR THE 2010-2011 SCHOOL YEAR:

It is recommended by Michael Tierney, Superintendent of Schools, to approve the

extra-curricular coaching/advisory assignments for the 2010-2011 school year

(Attachment 081710-05).

*9. APPROVE TAX WARRANT FOR THE 2010-2011 SCHOOL YEAR:

It is recommended by Michael Tierney, Superintendent of Schools, to approve the Tax Warrant for the 2010-2011 school year, per Attachment #081710-06.
