Girl Guides Australia invites you to experience a unique leadership development event

Be The Leader is a National Leadership Training for Guides aged 11-13.

Be The Leaderis an amazing opportunity for Adult Leaders to mentor Girl Guides from their State to expand their horizons, network, develop theirself-confidence and to further
expand their leadership skills. Contingent Leaders will be expected to take ideas back to their State and implement Leadership Training within their State.

ELIGIBILITY:All adult members of Girl Guides Australia.
Each State will provide a Contingent Leader to be responsible for the Guides from their State.

DATES:Friday 8 –Wednesday 13 July 2016

VENUE: Douglas Scrub, Girl Guides South Australia, Blewitt Springs, South Australia. Douglas Scrub is approximately 50 kilometres from Adelaide. Accommodation is dormitory-style accommodation.

COST:$325Leaders

TRANSPORT: Interstate participants will be collected from the Adelaide airport and transported to Douglas Scrub and returned to Adelaide airport.

FINANCIAL: There may be financial assistance available, please do

ASSISTANCE:not let cost stop you from applying. Talk to your District Leader or State Program Manager who will be able to advise you of the options available in your State.

APPLICATIONS: The application form must be completed and submitted to your State Program Manager by 5.00pm 22nd April 2016.

INFORMATION (2)

SELECTION: Each State will have its own selection process. This will take place during late April all applicants (regardless of whether they have been successful) will be notified by the early May.
Interviews may be conducted as part of a State’s selection process.

PAYMENT: Payment is not required prior to selection. If you are selected, a deposit of $200 will be due by 13th May2016 and the balance of$125 will be due on 13th June 2016.

REFUND POLICY: Any amount will be fully refunded by Girl Guides South Australia if notified by 13th May 2016. Between 14th May and 13th June, the refund will be the amount paid less a $50 administration fee, provided a replacement participant can be found. No refunds will be available after 14th June 2016. In the event of illness or accident arising between 14th June and 8 July 2016 preventing a participant attending, and where no replacement is found, any refund will be negotiated with the Be The Leader Planning Team and Girl Guides South Australia.

SPECIAL NEEDS: The Application Form asks you to specify any special needs, e.g. health or dietary requirements, this is to assist the Planning Team; an example might be you are vegetarian or require assistance with mobility. A more detailed Heath Form will be sent to successful applicants..
