Opening:

The regular meeting of the Douglas County Republican Central Committee was called to order at 7:05 p.m. on June 16, 2014 atthe Tuscola Senior Center, Tuscola, IL by Neal Wood, Chairman, with the Pledge of Allegiance.

B.Current Business

Secretary, Laura Henry read the minutes from the May 19 Republican Central Committee meeting. Mike Keenan made a motion to accept the Secretary’s Report as read. Charlie McGrew seconded the motion. The motion to accept the Secretaries report as read passed unanimously.

Treasurer, Danny Cleland gave the Treasurer’s Report. He reported a balance of $3,750.27. Expenditures included$100 to the Douglas County Fair Queen Pageant and $58 for Registration for the trailer used in parades with the log cabin.

Chairman, Neal Wood reported that Chapin Rose and Bruce Rauner will have an office together in Tuscola for an undetermined amount of time.

Parades were discussed as follows:

June 28 - line up at Progress in Arthur at noon for a 1:00 parade.

Ag Days in Villa Grove has no parade.

July 5 - line up at Ervin Park at 9:30 a.m. for a 10:00 a.m. parade.

August 30-31 is Arthur’s Cheese Festival. More information will be announced at a later date.

September 6 is Arcola’s Broom Corn Parade. More information will be announced at a later date. Julie Mills will reserve 2-3 spots for the Douglas County Republicans.

Chairman, Neal Wood discussed an idea to form an independent committee comprised of Republican Central Committee Board Members, representing various towns in the county, along with key community leader(s) to discuss ways to unify the county. This committee should be in place by August.

County Board Member, Chuck Knox had nothing to report concerning the County Board.

Circuit Clerk, Julie Mills had nothing to report concerning the Court House.

Secretary, Laura Henry will place an order for name tags for all new committeemen at Trophy Time. Business cards will be put on hold until all precincts have been appointed. Laura will check on pricing at Slack Publishing.

Chairman, Neal Wood informed the committee that he would be performing some maintenance to the log cabin and if anyone wants to put a sign on the log cabin they need to give him two signs.

B. Next Meeting

The next meeting of the Republican Central Committee will be Tuesday, July 15 at 7 p.m. at the Tuscola Senior Center.

Adjournment:

Mike Keenan made a motion to dismiss the meeting. Danny Cleland seconded the motion. The motion passed unanimously. The meeting adjourned at 7:38 p.m.
