Doors open at 8:00 A.M. – Individual events start at 9:00 A.M.

All group events will follow the individual awards.

Novice contestants will compete in modeling (no interview), basic strut, and solo. Beginner, Intermediate, Advanced and College contestants will compete in modeling (with interview), fancy strut and solo. SOLO DETERMINES YOUR DIVISION! Contestants must reside in West Virginia or be attending college in West Virginia to enter. College division is open to girls who are furthering their education, either full or part-time, by attending a college, university, or a professional school. A collegiate twirler must complete and be able to show proof of enrollment or acceptance letter in order to be eligible to competeand the school must be in West Virginia or West Virginia must be the contestants’ home state.

Novice, Beginner & Intermediate will model in costume. The modeling costume must be worn again in either the strutting or solo portion of the pageant. Advanced 0-6 & 7-9 will model in short dresses, Advanced 10-12 will model in long or short dresses, and Advanced 13-15, 16+ and College will model in long gowns.

1st place Beginner and Intermediate winners and 1st-3rd advanced pageant winners will represent West Virginia in the Miss Majorette of America Pageant held in South Bend, Indiana July 25-29, 2017

Awards for Miss Majorette will be 1st-5th place trophies, except for Novice (Novice will receive plaques) and 1st-3rd place medallions in Modeling, Strut & Solo. Miss Majorette awards will be held until the end of the individual competition. Open awards will be posted and will be 1st-2nd place trophies (medallions for novice), 3rd-5th place medals.

Open high point award will be given for each age division.

ENTRY DEADLINE: Miss Majorette: April 15th, 2017

All Miss Majorette entries postmarked between April 16th – April 22nd, 2017 will be charged a $15 late fee. No phone or e-mail entries for Miss Majorette accepted. Check or money order must accompany all entries. No refunds. NoMiss Majorette entries accepted postmarked after April 23nd, 2017. Open entries accepted up to the day of the contest. No late fee for open entries.

TEACHERS AWARD

We will be awarding a teacher’s award to the teacher with the most individual students entered in the Miss Majorette and open twirling contests. Please be sure to list your teachers’ name on your entry to ensure they are recognized.

1st & 2nd place in Advanced Open Solo in each age division will compete in a twirl off for this beautiful memorial traveling trophy! Must enter Advanced Open Solo to qualify.

DIRECTIONS

  • From Parkersburg: Take I-77 to the Ripley Exit. Turn left at the light. Go past the Court House to Route 21 and turn right. Go to the next light and turn left into the school.
  • From Charleston: Take I-77 to the Ripley-Fairplains Exit. Go approximately 4 miles to the 1st light and turn right into the school.
