Donald A. Holzworth, MS
Don Holzworth is Executive in Residence at the University of North Carolina (UNC) Gillings School of Global Public Health. He is Chairman of the School’s Advisory Council, and an Adjunct Professor of Health Policy and Management. He also serves as a member of the Chancellor’s Innovation Circle and on the Office of Technology Development Advisory Board. In his various roles he advises groups and individuals, including faculty and students, on strategic planning, commercialization, innovation, and entrepreneurship in areas including obesity, water and environment, global health and overcoming health disparities. He also advises on strategic partnerships and the identification of potential funding partners.

2007 to 2008, After the sale of his company, Constella Group, LLC, to SRA International in 2007, Holzworth served as Senior Vice President and Director of SRA, where he was responsible for development of a new $300 million Global Health Sector. He also served as a Strategic Consultant to SRA’s CEO advising on merger and acquisition activities in the life sciences. In September 2008, Holzworth completed the acquisition of Constella Futures (the international development arm of Constella Group) from SRA.
1995 to 2007, after purchasing 100% interest in Analytical Sciences, Inc. in 1995, Holzworth served as the company’s Chairman and Chief Executive Officer, renaming the company as Constella Group, Inc. in 2002. During his ownership, Holzworth built Constella into a leading global provider of health consulting services dedicated to enhancing human health around the world, every day. Holzworth guided Constella's revenue growth to more than $200 million, increased the company's number of employees from 13 to more than 1,500, and the scope of the company’s operations to 61 countries. In August 2007, Holzworth completed the sale of Constella to SRA International, Inc., a $1.5 billion technology services and consulting firm.
1991 to 1995, Holzworth served as Founder and Executive Vice President, Analytical Sciences, Inc.
In 2003 and again in 2007, the North Carolina Council for Entrepreneurial Development recognized Holzworth with itsEntrepreneurial Excellence Award. In 2005, Ernst & Young named Holzworth as a Carolinas Entrepreneur of the Year® and he now serves as both a regional and national judge for this prestigious program.
2002, Holzworth founded and served as the inaugural CEO of Expression Analysis, Inc., a start-up genomic services company spun out of Duke University Medical Center. He now serves as the company's Chairman of the Board.
1990 to 1991, Holzworth served as Vice President for DynCorp overseeing the life sciences business it had acquired from Program Resources, Inc, (see below).
1983, Holzworth co-founded Analytical Sciences, Inc (renamed Constella Group in 2002) and served as a Member of the Board until joining the company full time in 1991.
1981 to 1990, Holzworth was Vice President of Program Resources Inc., leading that company’s life sciences business and growth from $6 million to $70 million in revenue before its sale in 1990 to Dyncorp.
1977 to 1981, Holzworth served as a Senior Research Scientist with Battelle Memorial Institute.
1976, Holzworth served as a Software Specialist and Instructor with the Academic Computer Service, Miami University.
