How can you make your child independent?

Make your child more independent by teaching him or her various activities like

·  buttoning and unbuttoning the shirt.

·  folding mats and clothes.

·  learning to wear shoes and socks.

·  learning how to zip the school bag and uniform. (shorts)

·  keeping his/her plate in the kitchen,after the meals.

·  watering the plants.

Good manners and good habits are lifelong assets and they should be practiced until they become habits. Revise the four magical words; PLEASE, SORRY, THANK YOU, EXCUSE ME, which we have learned as the part of basics of good manners. Make them use these four words a habit and see the difference.

HYGIENE

·  Brush your teeth twice a day.

·  Trim your nails regularly.

·  Take a bath every day.

·  Wash your hands before and after meals.

·  Switch off lights/ fans/ television,when you do not require them.

·  Save water by closing the taps after use.

·  Keep your surrounding and environment clean.

·  Do not throw anything out of the window, car or balcony. Always throw garbage in the dustbin.

It is also important that your child learns to converse in English. Here are some tips……

·  The child should say his/her name in full sentence.

·  Teach the child to use short sentences

a)  May I go to wash room?

b)  Please open my tiffin/ water bottle.

c)  May I quench my thirst?

d)  May I come in?

e)  Please give me water.

f)  Please help me .

g)  May I help you in your work please?

h)  Mom, can you help me in doing my homework?

TIPS FOR SUMMER BREAK

Do’s

·  Always start your day with prayers.

·  Drink lots of liquids like water, juice,etc.

·  Wear cap and carry an umbrella when you move out during day time.

·  Help your parents at home by putting your things in place.

·  Wish your elders and guests.

Don’t’s

·  Don’t watch Television for long

hours.

·  Don’t eat junk food.

·  Don’t play in sun.

“We follow instructions to reach the destination which is the chamber of our preparation.” So,kindly guide, motivate and facilitate your children to complete their Holidays Homework by following the given instructions.

·  Holiday homework should be done under parental guidance and not by the parents.

·  The child should have a fixed time daily for completing assignments.

·  Before coloring, guide him / her on how to color in the same direction.

·  Nurture your child’s interest – be it art, music, dance or anything else.

·  Let him/her pursue a hobby of his /her own choice.

·  Please train your child to become independent in the daily chores.

·  All the tasks should be done as per the given instructions.

·  The homework shall be submitted on the first day after the holidays.

·  Holidays home work should be neatly done with Name,Class and Section of the student mentioned clearly.

Talk to your ward about the rooms which he/she has in the house and tell him/her about the items found there in, to enhance his/her vocabulary. Prepare the child to speak a few lines about his/her favourite room.

ACTIVITY TIME IS FUN TIME

·  Daddy’s Day Out:

Father's Day is observed on the third Sunday of June. It honors all fathers,

grandfathers and fatherly figures for their contribution. So on this Father’s Day

mothers can team up with their children to-

Ø  Pamper daddy with a rose.

Ø  Make him feel special by giving daddy his handkerchief and phone before leaving for work.

Ø  Decide his dress for the day, taking special care to choose his favourite colour.

Ø  Prepare a mouth-watering recipe which might become his all time favourite. An example for one such recipe is given below.

“Yummy, healthy Caterpillar Salad”

1. Tomato (1)

2. Cucumber (1)

3. Some cabbage leaves

4. 2 to 3 coriander leaves

5. Pepper , salt and lemon

How to make:

1.  Slice 1 tomato and use 1 slice of it to make the caterpillar’s head.

2. Slice 1 cucumber. Use the sliced pieces to make the caterpillar’s body.

3. Chop some cabbage to make the grass on which caterpillar crawls.

4. Use mint or coriander leaves to make eyes and nose.

5. Add some salt, pepper and lemon on it.

·  Click a (8x12) photograph of your child in proper school uniform and make the child aware about all the colours present in the uniform including the colour of the hairband,shoe,tunic,etc.

·  Make your ward learn this poem on the Father’s Day (This poem will be heard in the class as recitation test in July)

MY DADDY

“Walk a little slower Daddy

said a child so small, “I am following in your footsteps

and don’t want to fall.”

·  In this world, the most lovable persons for the kids are Nana /Nani or Dada/Dadi …. of course, after the Mother. So it’s time to take your kids to your home town/village and let the child spend some memorable time with the family. If possible show him/her what is agriculture/ farming and the difficulties the farmers go through to make food available to us. Also explain to him/her that we should not waste food and along with all this, click some AWESOME SELFIES for the scrap file and paste them.Also find a suitable title for the scrap book.

·  Help your child revise the procedures taken in the class by asking the following questions:-
