Don & Joyce Hollingsworth Memorial Scholarship
Don & Joyce Hollingsworth were both lifelong residents of the Mediapolis Community. Don was a graduate of Yarmouth, while Joyce was a graduate of Mediapolis. Don and Joyce’s children and grandchildren are also alumni of Mediapolis High School. The believed strongly in the development of the youth in Mediapolis; whom which they loved to watch grow and succeed through activities in the community.
Don and Joyce were both active in the community as well in which they felt strongly about giving back, hard work, fairness, friendship, and perseverance.
Joyce passed away on November 1, 2012, and Don passed away on November 3, 2016. It was their wish to continue to promote these qualities through a scholarship.

1. Candidates for this award should be the child/grandchild of a veteran.
2. Candidates must plan to attend an accredited university, college, community
college, or vocational school within the state of Iowa.
3. Candidates must have a grade point average of at least 2.0.
4. Candidates must be students in the Mediapolis School District and be in their
senior year at Mediappolis High School.
5. Applications must be turned in to the high school counseling office by April 26th.
6. This is one scholarship for either a boy or girl in the amount of $500.00

A check will be sent to the school of the recipient’s choice upon the successful completion of one semester.
