  • Division 1: Preserves and Home Baking

a)  Jar of jam (any variety stone fruit)

b)  Jar of jam (any other fruit)

c)  Jar of jam (hedgerow)

d)  Jar of jelly

e)  Jar of chutney

f)  Jar of pickles

g)  Best cup cakes (adult) - 3 on a plate

h)  Best fairy cakes (children) - 3 on a plate

  • Division 2: Fruit and Flowers

a)  Vase of Chrysanthemums - 3 blooms (any variety), sponsored by Ernie Clark

b)  Vase of Dahlias - 3 blooms (any variety), sponsored by Ernie Clark

c)  Arrangement of freshly cut flowers and foliage (vases are available)

d)  Best apples (dessert or culinary of one variety) - 3 apples to match in size

e)  Best pears (dessert or culinary of one variety) - 3 pears to match in size

f)  Any soft fruit - 12 examples that match in size or a small bunch

  • Division 3: Vegetables

a)  Potatoes - 3 of one variety

b)  Onions - 3 of one variety

c)  Tomatoes - 5 of one variety

d)  Peppers (sweet or chilli) - 5 of one variety

e)  Novel shaped vegetable

  • Division 4: Photography

a)  Photo themed around the Taste of Autumn. Min. size 7” x 5” – Max. size 10” x 12”. Must be submitted by Friday 18th September for mounting. Winner to be voted for by the public.

Please note:

There is no entry fee! All classes are open. Max. of two entries per class.

Each category will be awarded a First Prize which consists of a £5.00 token to be spent

in Capel’s shop and plant area.

Certificates will be presented for 1st, 2nd, 3rd and Highly Commended.

All entries must be either home-made or home-grown.

Setting up will be from 8.00am - 11.00am on Saturday 19th September

Judging commencing at 11.00am õ Prizes awarded at 3.00pm on the Saturday
