California State Fitness Testing Requirements
State Law requires students to pass 5 of the 6 Healthy Fitness Standards. All 9th grade students will take the Fitness Test in March 2009.
If a student does not meet the State Standards their 9th grade year, they are given the opportunity during their 10th grade year to pass any failed areas. Any areas passed will not be retested. They have till the end of their 10th grade school year to fulfill the State requirements.
Student’s, who do not meet the Healthy Fitness Zone by the end of 10th grade year, will be required to enroll into Physical Education during 11th grade. Failure to meet State Standards at the end of 11th grade will require student’s to take Physical Education during 12th grade. Per. 6 Athletics is also held to the same requirements.
