Subject Line: E-mail message from Scott Cooper and Bryce Thorp regarding Leadership Election

There is a Special Invitation at the bottom of this letter

Greetings Fredericksburg Patriots:

You may have seen in the Fredericksburg Patriots Newsletter and posted on the events page of The Fredericksburg Patriots web-site that our organization is having an election at our meeting on Sunday August 28th. That’s right, this Sunday we will be electing the leadership for the Patriots for the next 12 months!

Unless you have clicked on the “sample ballot” link, you may not even know who has decided to run for various positions. We encourage you to check out the link on this site to get the complete ballot:

The only position that is contested is that of Chairman.

We (Bryce and Scott) are encouraged by the work that The Fredericksburg Patriots have done in the course of the last year; however we believe strongly that the Tea Party should demonstrate our belief that our elected leaders rotate leadership (term-limits). This may not be as critical for specific jobs – when people have identified specific needs that can be met by their gifts and talents; however with the position of Chairman, or Organizer – we believe constantly allowing new ideas from this position is critical to the life and vitality of our organization.

Ultimately, we believe The Patriots is a grassroots (bottom-up) organization. We are seeking to serve you as co-organizers. We want to help stimulate the ideas that each of you have – the very concerns and ideas that caused you to join our organization in the first place. Secondly our goal is help this group organize their ideas in an effective manner to help us tackle the very important tasks ahead of us.

Many of you have spoken to us about ideas that you have. We look forward to hearing more. Most importantly to us, for various reasons, a very large percentage of you have disengaged from our organization. This is a huge concern of ours and it is our hope that the election will bring you back to help us in the very important tasks that we face in our local community, as well as on the state and federal levels.

We had wanted to reach out to each of you personally with a phone call; however due to privacy reasons, we were not permitted to have the phone list to contact you individually. We were however told that current leadership would forward this e-mail to the group distribution for us. Since we are unable to contact you personally, and because we cannot share all the ideas we have for the next year, as well as hear yours in the 5 minutes we are allotted on Sunday, we are hosting two “tele-town-halls” (Webinars) on Saturday August 27th. The first will be at 9 AM, and the second will be at 8 PM.

In order to receive an invite to our GoToMeeting Webinar, please e-mail or call one of the following – and we will send out an invitation to you.

Bryce Thorpe 540-604-1311

Scott Cooper 540-455-9306

Special thanks to those who have already contacted us and provided us feedback. We look forward to hearing from the rest of you.

Blessings,

Scott and Bryce

PS. We realize that many of you are not current on your dues. If this is the case, we encourage you to bring you dues current, thus enabling you to participate in the election as well as support our Constitution Day Jubilee taking place next month.
