Please note: Rehearsals and classes will be held at Sacramento City College, along with some work calls. Production work will take place at William Land Park.

Please provide a brief answer to the following questions:

1) What theatrical experience do you have? (On stage, backstage, as an audience member)
2) Have you ever read/performed Shakespeare before?
3) Have you ever seen a Sacramento Shakespeare Production before? (‘No’ is not a disqualifying answer)

Description of Internship

What SSF Offers:

Chance to work with professionals on full scale productions.

Guaranteed role in our 15-minute Shakespeare play, performed as pre-show.

Conservatory classes with SSF Company Members in:

  • Shakespeare
  • Stage Combat
  • Voice and Vocal Preparation
  • Monologue Preparation
  • Movement
  • (Topics subject to change, and we will try to accommodate requests)

Open, friendly, safe environment in which to learn

Note: This is an unpaid internship, college or high school credit is available

What SSF Requires of all Interns

Attendance at all work calls, classes and rehearsals.

Read one Shakespeare play and choose a monologue before first master class meeting (with help from SSF Director/Company Members).

Assist in technical areas.

Staff the front of house.

Assist with publicity events and mailings.

Positive and professional attitude

Willingness to learn.

Strict adherence to safety rules.

Reliable transportation to and from work calls, rehearsals and performances. Performances in the park are finished around 11:00pm.

Reasonable accommodations for family needs/vacations will be made at the discretion of the director. Conflicts with performances are harder to manage.
