6-6=0 / February is a short, busy month. We will be talking and learning about African American Historical Figures, Dental Health, Valentine’s Day, Groundhog’s Day, President’s Day, and other important holidays and events.
- Fri. Feb. 3rd-Talent Show at North Star Church from 6:00-8:00 p.m. The admission price is $2.00per person (pre-sale). The tickets will be sold starting this week.The ticket price at the door on Friday will be $3.00.At the talent show, food will be available for purchase: chips, candy, drinks, etc.
- Fri. Feb. 3rd-FIRST IN MATH CHALLENGE will be due. Make sure your child is working on this at home, remember to initial and date the sheet.
- Tues. Feb. 7th-Valentine’s BINGO in the cafeteria from 6-8 p.m.
- Tues. Feb. 14th- Valentine’s Day Celebration-Have your child wear RED or PINK. Please send in any Valentine’s Day snacks that the class can share during our celebration. Look on the back for more information.
- Fri. Feb. 17th-If you would like to order a yearbook the price is $30.00 or you can order online at Balfour.com.
- Mon. Feb. 20th-Fri. Feb. 24th-WINTER BREAK-There will be NO SCHOOL for the week!
- Tues. Feb. 28th-SIX FLAGS READING LOG WILL BE DUE-The reading log was sent home in your child’s folder. Please make sure that your child is reading every day and writing the title of the book on their Six Flags Reading Log. The amount should be 360 minutes or 6 hours.
**With the changing weather, I am seeing more and more students sneezing and coughing. Please remind your child to cough and sneeze in their elbow area; as this avoids the spread of germs. **

On Tuesday, February 14th, we will a Valentine’s Day celebration. WE will be exchanging Valentine’s Day cards. Please allow your child to bring in 1 valentine card for each child in our class. **Please allow your child to fill each card out independently.
This is an optional activity. If you allow your child to participate, you can buy Valentine cards at the store or have them make some at home.
If you would like to send in some snacks for us to have on that day, please do so.

We will go outside for recess every day weather permitting. Please make sure your child has a jacket to wear when we go out. As the weather gets cooler and you send your child in with a jacket, please remember to label it so that it is easier to find if it gets lost.
