Disseminated / 10,500 / I had an internship at the UN Department of Public Information Yerevan Office in February-March 2008. The tasks I performed ranged from assisting the UNDPI Yerevan Office staff in its daily activities such as making annotations to different UN publications, translating work documents, press releases etc. The internship gave me an opportunity to deepen my knowledge of the UN, its mission, structure and activities both in Armenia and international arena.
My main task during the internship was, however, the compilation of the “UN Peace Mandate” Reference book which was devoted to the 60th anniversary of the UN Peacekeeping and presented on May 29, 2008 on the International Day of UN Peacekeeping. The compilation of the reference paper helped to further develop my analytical and writing skills. The work on the reference paper provided me with the opportunity to scrutinize the structure and activities of the UN bodies and strategic documents dealing with the global security.
Of great pleasure was to work in the united and coherent DPI Yerevan office staff and become a member of the team for, though a short, but a very productive for me time.
