MCC Student Email Accounts

Office 365 for students includes email, calendar, Office Web Apps, video and online meeting, document sharing, and SkyDrive.

Anytime MCC(and possibly your instructors) wants to contact you, they will send you an email to your MCC Student Email account….. below are the instructions to access that email account…

Your student email address is username@mail.mccneb.edu

To Access your MCC Student email….

From any computer

-Go to the Metro Homepage (

Click on “MyWay”

-Enter your “User Name” and “Password” and click “Log In”

-Click in center of upper part of screen where it talks about your Student email.

or

From an MCC college-provided computer (on campus):

In a web browser go to:

In the Office 365 username field as shown at right,

enter your e-mail address and select Sign In.

You do not need to enter your password since you

are logged on a college-provided computer.

Once you are logged in, you should see your Office 365

applications (Outlook, Calendar, SkyDrive etc.) listed at

the top of the screen. Select “Outlook” to access your email.

From a non-MCC computer (at home or on a personal laptop):

In a web browser to go to:

In the Office 365 username field as shown above,

enter your email address and select Sign In.

You will then be redirected to MCC’s student email login page, shown at right.

Enter your email address and password and click Sign In.

Once you are logged in, you should see your

Office 365 applications (Outlook, Calendar, SkyDrive etc.) listed at the top of the screen (see below). Select “Outlook” to access your email.

If you do not know your “User Name” and “Password”….

-Go to the Metro Homepage (

-Go to “Password Station” (In the “College Information” column choose “Password Station”)

-Click on “OPTION 2 - I don't know my username or password”

-Enter either your Student ID Number, or your Social Security Number (no dashes)

-Also, enter your “Last Name”, “Street Number and Name” (your street address, city & state aren’t necessary), “Zip Code”, and “Birth Date” (in the form mm/dd/yyyy)……. These have to be in the form they were entered in when you were registered, so watch out for spelling and abbreviations…. If you have difficulty with this, you will need to contact someone in Central Registration (402-457-5231) or stop by Student Affairs to have this information corrected.

-After entering all of your information, click “Continue” and you will be given your “Username” and be directed to make up a password…

-Passwords requirements are…

  • Passwords cannot contain any part of your name or username
  • Passwords cannot contain any special characters such as: "/\{}:;=,+|
  • Passwords must be at least 6 characters long
  • Passwords must have characters from these three groups:
  • Upper case letters
  • Lower case letters
  • Numbers

-After typing in your New Password, you will be asked to “Re-Enter New Password” for verification

-Write down your Username and Password and keep it somewhere safe, so no one can get to your information (better yet, make the Password something you can remember)

-You will have to change your Password every 180 days
