Explanatory notes
All tasks are to be carried out in accordance with enterprise procedures, the enterprise being the organisation carrying out the work. Enterprise procedures referred to in this unit standard are the applicable procedures found in the following:enterprise exposition;manufacturer publications;Government and local body legislation;airworthiness authority requirements.

1.1Task is determined by reviewing documentation and enterprise procedures.
1.2Procedure for manufacturing tooling is determined in accordance with enterprise procedures.
1.3Resources are obtained and checked for serviceability or status in accordance with enterprise procedures.

1.4Tooling manufacturing sketches are produced, to meet specifications.

Manufacture or repair composite tooling.
Evidence requirements
2.1Materials are cut to meet specifications.
Rangemarking out, wastage minimised.
2.2Tooling is manufactured or repaired to meet specifications.
Rangecut, formed, joined, inspected, finished.
2.3Manufacturing defects are rectified in accordance with enterprise procedures.
2.4Tooling is prepared for use in accordance with enterprise procedures.
Rangeshape checkedagainst drawing and master, release agent applied.
2.5Tooling is prepared for storage or transit in accordance with enterprise procedures.
Rangerelease agent removed, documentation completed, packed, despatched.
2.6Inspections are obtained in accordance with enterprise procedures.
2.7Documentation is completed in accordance with enterprise procedures.

Carry out task completion activities.
Evidence requirements
3.1Completion activities specific to the task and work area are carried out in accordance with enterprise procedures.
Rangeactivities may include but are not limited to – tool control, cleanliness, tidiness, return of publications, preparation of next activity, return of aircraft and systems to normal.
3.2Resources are checked for serviceability and returned to service or storage in accordance with enterprise procedures.

3.3Leftover items, parts, and materials are disposed of in accordance with enterprise procedures.
Rangemay include but is not limited to – serviceable, unserviceable, surplus, waste, scrap, hazardous.
