Course Aims:

The aims of the VCE VET Certificate II/III in Applied Fashion Design & Technology program are to:

·  Extend or confirm knowledge and skills for intending or existing concept

development for clothing products operators in a number of areas relevant to concept development for clothing products.

·  Provide a comprehensive overview of the nature of concept development for clothing products and, what a concept development for clothing operator or participant must know.

·  Provide a sound basis of skills and understanding relevant to small businesses, including quality processes, maintaining a business and developing personal skills

·  Broaden student’s understanding of concept development for clothing products and of pathways available in the area.

·  Introduce students to the practices of clothing design and to enterprise and entrepreneurial opportunities that small businesses can offer.

Structured Workplace Learning On-the Job Training:

VCE Unit Status:

·  Students who complete Certificate III in Applied Fashion & Design Technology will be eligible for four units credit towards their VCE: two units at Unit 1–2 and a Unit 3–4 sequence

VCAL Unit Status:

·  When a student has been assessed as competent in units of competence totalling 100 nominal hours, this will contribute one VCAL unit towards satisfactory completion of the VCAL.

ATAR Contribution:

·  Students who receive a Units 3 and 4 sequence for LMT31407 will be eligible for a 10% increment towards their ATAR (10% of the average of the primary four scaled studies).
