The URG Scholarship Foundation was founded in 2014. It is dedicated to those individuals who gave their talent, their time and very often their own finances to ensure the growth and success of the automotive recycling industry. As a result of their vision and efforts,United Recyclers Group was formed. Since its beginning in 1995, United Recyclers Group has flourished under the leadership of it past and current voluntary Board of Managers. URG’s commitment to its members has remained constant. Created by Auto Recyclers for Recyclers, URG remains focused in the areas of education, business acumen, and most importantly, supporting the automotive recycler in their efforts to provide superior service and exceptional products to the repair industry.
ThankyouforyourinterestintheURG Scholarship FoundationAward. Tofileanapplication,itwillbenecessarytoprovidethe requested information, along with theenclosedformsasdirected.Funding is restricted,therefore onlyalimitednumberofscholarshipsareavailable. Applicantwillbefirmlyheldtothegradepointaveragecriteriaanddeadlineaslisted below. Qualified candidates may reapply annually for a maximum of 4 awards. If selected, proof of full-time enrollment in a secondary learning institution will be required.
APPLICANTMUSTMEETTHEFOLLOWINGQUALIFICATIONS:
1.Be either a full-time employee of a Licensed Automotive Dismantler, employed at least 1 year, or a child of an employee of a Licensed Automotive Dismantler, employed at least 1 year, whose business organization (Owner) is amemberofURG in good standing. Owners, or childrenofowners,andthoseowningover $100,000ofstockintheemployingfirmarenoteligible
2.Beenrolled in a post-highschoolprogramatacollege,university,orschoolprovidingtrade,businessortechnicalprograms, taking a minimum of 6 credit hours or equivalent if a full-time employee, or taking a minimum of 12 credit hours or equivalent if a full-time student.
3.Haveachievedatleasta3.0GPA,ortheequivalent,intheirpreviouseducationalprogram.
APPLICANT SHOULD PROVIDE THE FOLLOWING INFORMATION WITH THEIR APPLICATION:
1.Transcripts of academic record from highschool,college,universityorotherinstitution. Thetranscriptmustincludegradesforthe preceding falland spring terms.Iftheinstitutiondoes notusea4.0gradingsystem, anexplanationofthesystemmustaccompanythetranscript.
2.Completed"ApplicationForm"and"ProfileSheet."
3.Letter of verification from the URG member company where the applicant or the parent of the applicant is currently employed and in good standing with his or her employer.
4.Completed "CertificationForm" signed by parent if applicant is not an employee.
5.Mail or email all required documentation to the following no later than Friday, April 1, 2016.
