17/54 Planning
17/55 Reports Cllr Balmain gave the following report
Edinburgh Airport Limited Consultation
It would appear that the population figures that EAL have used are incorrect and the various bodies that they claim to have obtained them from are saying they did not supply them. They are basing their figures on outdated information from 2011.
There would appear to be no basis for expansion either as there are now less flights than there was 10 years ago albeit there is a large increase in passenger numbers but this is offset by larger fuller aircraft.
Concerns raised over a flightpath being over the petrochemical industry within the town where met with the response “there is nothing in the current rules that exclude this” At a meeting with the Civil Aviation Authority they were unable to comment on EAL
proposals as until they receive a formal application to make changes it would only be speculation as to what was proposed.
They did however say that the new navigation system that EAL said requires new flight paths could be used on existing routes.
Edinburgh Airport Watch as the main focus group are in constant communication with all the involved parties and as such will keep us up to date with developments.
Proposed Xmas Fete C Cllr Milne advised that Talbot House had been suggested as a venue C Cllr McKay offered to make enquiries.
Kersiebank Medical Practise C Cllr McKay gave a report of the Patient Participation Panel Meeting she had attended along with C Cllrs Higgins and C Cllr Richards (personal capacity).
Various items were raised by members of the general public. C Cllr Richards advised that a Public Meeting was being organised late August/early September when Members of KMP would be present to answer questions. He also reiterated that matters were improving.
C Cllr McKay advised that the baby clinic was closing urgent enquiries would be made.
