Our website is now up and running. We are doing our best to keep our calendar up-to-date and plan to add many new areas in the coming months. Watch the site for stories about the great things happening at Poplar Road:
/ Character Education:
For the month of November, Poplar Road students will learn about the character attribute ‘Empathy’. Along with our observance of Remembrance Day, our students will participate in classroom activities that will teach about this important quality. The choice of Empathy for the month of November also coincides with a Provincial initiative to hold a Bullying Awareness week in all schools the week of November 16th – 22nd. Please look for more information about Anti-Bullying activities on our website.
/ Cross Country
A great day was had by Poplar Road runners at the East Conference Finals on October 17th at Thompson Park. Congratulations go out to all of the runners for finishing strong on the final straightaway and the few runners who had personal best placings at this competitive race. Special congratulations go out to our lone qualifier student for the City Finals: Gaetano Pocchi!
/ Girl’s Basketball
Our Girl’s Basketball Team hosted an exhibition game against students from Duke Of Connaught Public School, on Monday November 3rd. The girls were triumphant and also demonstrated excellent sportsmanship and teamwork. Thank you to all that came out to cheer on our team. More news about this hard working group will be coming soon.
