CHPL Museum Pass Policy
The Library offers Museum Passes for our patrons – check out a pass and enjoy fun and cultural enrichment at one of many area attractions!
This service is generously sponsored by the CHPL Board of Trustees, the Friends of the Cherry Hill Public Library, and our community donors.
Where can I pick up a museum pass?
Passes can be picked up at the Cherry Hill Public Library Reference Desk during regular library hours. Passes are on a first come, first serve basis unless you reserve a pass for same day pickup.
Who can borrow a museum pass?
Museum passes are available to adult cardholders ages 18 years and older in good standing; they are free to check out.
The cardholder MUST be present to borrow a pass so that they can sign the lending agreement.
How can I find out if a museum pass is available?
You can check the library’s online catalog by searching the phrase “Museum Pass” to see which passes are available. You may also call the Reference Department at (856) 667-0300 x2 to check the status of a pass.
Can I reserve a museum pass for pick-up?
Museum passes are on a first come, first serve basis.
Patrons cannot place automated holds, be placed on a waiting list, or make reservations for a future date.
Exception: If a pass is currently available, staff can reserve the pass at the Desk to be picked up by a patron that same day (by the end of the business day).
To have an available pass held for you, call the Reference Desk (856) 667-0300 x2.
How long can I keep a museum pass?
Passes may be checked out for up to 4 days and may not be renewed.
Only one pass per family/cardholder can be borrowed at any given time.
Families cannot borrow the same museum pass on a consecutive basis.
Where can I return a museum pass?
Passes must be returned during library business hours to the staff at the Reference Desk.
Museum passes cannot be returned via the bookdrop.
Cases must be returned along with the passes. There will be a $5.00 fee for losing or damaging the case.
What are the late fines?
A late fine of $5.00/day will apply with a maximum late fine of $25.00.
What if I lose the museum pass?
Patrons are responsible for the full cost of the pass if it is lost (cost of the pass varies by museum).
If a pass is not returned within 5 days of its due date, it will be considered lost and the borrower will be charged for the full replacement cost.
