2018 award requirements
It all started with an idea of how to help and support our community back in 2012.
Jack McGeorge Living Leadership Scholarship
The Leather Leadership Conference was honored to be able to award the first Living Leadership Scholarship named for Jack McGeorge which recognizesrecognizing students for their achievements in academics, leadership and service to their community in Philadelphia in April of 2014.
Current scholarship:CURRENT SCHOLARSHIPS:
Scholarship Committee may disburse up to $10,000 for 2018
Memorial Scholarships: *
David Nelson Scholarship - PhD $3,000 (one available) **
Sir Alan Penrod Scholarship - Posts$2,000 (one available) **
Jack McGeorge Scholarship - $1,000 (3 available) **
LLC General Scholarships:
Tech or Certificate Program - $1000 (2 available) **
SUBMISSIONS OPEN: July 1, 2015Sept 25, 2018 (dated no earlier than)
SUBMISSION DEADLINE: Received by October Nov 130, 2018

Scholarship recipient will be notified by November 15December 11,,20152018
The recipient will be awarded at LLC – Atlanta, March 9-1118-20, 2018

The scholarship, worth $1,000Scholarship awards , wwill be applied to student account at accredited colleges or universities through bursar’s office..
ELIGIBILITY
To qualify, students must meet the following criteria:
Currently a tech,under graduate or post gradgraduate student who will be enrolled in Spring or Fall 2016 2018 (in a caring profession defined as one that benefits the community – Medical, Mental Health, Counseling, LGBT*)
Exemplify the ideals of scholarship, leadership, and service- All applicants must have a minimum 3.0 GPA
- Have previously attended Leather Leadership Conference preferred
- May not have previously received an LLC Scholarship
SUBMISSION GUIDELINES
Your application packet submission to the Committee should include the following::
- Jack McGeorgeS scholarship application
- An essay of 500 words describing your personal and professional goals. This may include information such as your reasons for pursuing a graduate or professional degree, your community service activities, employment experience, and accomplishments not otherwise noted on this application.
- A list of scholastic honors, awards, & extracurricular activities (campus & community) and offices held
- Two letters of recommendation to support your application.
- A letter from program advisor verifying enrollment.

Scholarship recipient(s) will receive Special Guest registration package
- Scholarship Award in amount of Scholarship Designation
- One Conference Registration ***
- One Event Pin
- One “Leadership in Action” Pin
Scholarship recipient(s) must agree to the following award requirements:
- Check-in with a board designated contact on site each day of the event
- Attend two classes each day (Saturday and Sunday)
- Meet with designated Scholarship Committee contact to share your weekend experience
- Provide follow-up during the year of award via email
- Scholarship recipients will be featured on the LLC website
- Assist in promoting the scholarship program within the community
- Be present to receive recognition on stage as scholarship recipient
Scholarship Award winner must attend conference to receive scholarship

The Scholarship Committee reserves the right to reassign available funds and may, at its discretion, reallocate scholarships up to the amount of $10,000 reserved for disbursement in the 2018 Conference year.
