Award/Recognition Criteria
Pacific Western Technologies, Ltd. (PWT) is a Professional Working Team dedicated to making our world more productive and cleaner by utilizing advanced environmental, civil, management and information technologies.
PWT is able to achieve this mission through utilization of its assets. And our employees are PWT=s greatest asset. Employees contribute to the achievement of the company goals through leadership, customer satisfaction, employee suggestions, employee team interaction, and a spirit of cooperation. As employees continue to contribute to fulfilling our mission statement, PWT=s growth continues to excel.
PWT recognizes and rewards employees for their excellent performance or contributions that will improve our organization. Employees are encouraged to provide information of commendation to PWT management for specific individuals whose efforts result in:
· Increased productivity, revenue, or profit
· Elimination of waste
· Savings in time, money, material, and/or effort
· Fewer accidents
· Improved service, design, security, and procedures
· Reduction of errors and/or costs
· Elimination of duplication of effort and detrimental operations
Recognition
PWT appreciates the contribution of each employee. Furthermore, PWT also wants to recognize special efforts, small or large, by employees beyond their daily routine. The recognition takes various forms including PWT newsletter announcements, achievement certificates, commendation letters, recognition during companywide or group meetings, plaques, bonuses and spot awards which shall be coordinated through the Director of Administration and/or approved by the CEO when appropriate.
Awards
Bonus (Cash) - Award of a cash bonus will be based on a specific recommendation submitted by a Division or HQ Group Manager. The criteria used for qualification are designed to encompass company goals. Recommendations for a cash bonus award should be accompanied by the completed and signed award form. In addition, a memo explaining the employee=s achievement or contribution in detail should be attached. This will assist the CEO with information necessary to determine approval of an award in excess of $500.
A cash bonus, not to exceed three (3) percent of the employee=s annual salary, may be awarded as the direct consequence of a significant contribution made by an employee. Plaques will be awarded at annual holiday gatherings.
Spot Awards - The purpose of a spot award is to provide quick recognition of an employee’seffort, instill employees with continuous positive reinforcement, and provide Managers with the flexibility and autonomy to decide when an employee has contributed or achieved something that merits immediate recognition.
Each year, PWT will budget and set aside an amount of money for the purchase of spot awards. The budgetary amount set aside for spot awards will be proportionally distributed between Division and Groups based on the percentage of employees in each Division or Group. Managers may, at their discretion, decide what constitutes a spot award. It is suggested, however, that managers keep the award criteria in mind when recognizing employees. Each spot award could be a gift certificate or merchandise with a value of no more that $50. PWT administration can arrange for the purchase of spot awards, or managers may, at their discretion, use their budgeted amounts and purchase spot awards as desired.
Employees may receive more than one spot award based on their performance. Managers should provide the Director of Administration with the completed and authorized award form. Recipients of a spot award will be recognized in the monthly PWT Newsletter.
Employee Commendations - Recognizing that managers cannot always be aware of every employee=s efforts, employees are encouraged to present managers with evidence (except self-recommendation) of a fellow PWT employee=s contribution(s) through use of the Employee Award/Recognition Form. Managers may decide what type of recognition, if any, an employee would be entitled to receive after careful evaluation of an employee=s cited contribution(s).
All employee commendations should be submitted to the Chief Executive Officer. Managers may, at their discretion, make a recommendation for a specific employee. Employee commendations may be recognized in the form of a commendation letter, spot award, plaque, and/or cash bonus.
It is the manager=s responsibility to respond to an employee=s commendation. It is also the manager=s responsibility to recommend the type of acknowledgment that an employee should receive in regard to their commendation.
Longevity Recognition - The Director of Administration will monitor employees= years of service to PWT and awards will be made in increments of 5 years. The longevity award will consist of a plaque and a gift certificate, monetarily increasing with years of service. Employees will be recognized at the annual holiday season gathering in each region.
