Dear Members, 28thMarch 2017
I am very pleased to tell you about our successful year. We once again put on D, D+, C and C+ progressive tests and B Test training (and testing!), as well as preparation for the Lunge Test in readiness for AH Test Training, and I am very proud to say that EUSPC achieved the highest percentage of members taking tests last year! We are very grateful to Kate Mead, Vicky Harding, Michael Paveley and all those who worked so hard and gave their time to train our members for these tests. In addition, we offered lots of rallies and clinics in various disciplines with our own instructors and visiting experts.
Our Junior camp was very well attended and Senior Camp was such a success that this year we are extending the event by another day. Once again our Advanced Course for eventing was very popular. We again fielded teams and individual competitors in Area Dressage, Area Showjumping, Eventing, Bloom Cup and Gosling Cup competitions. We hope that you have enjoyed The Pony Club last year, and that you are looking forward to the coming year!
As you know, we do not run our rallies or camps for profit, and we continue to be very grateful to our instructors and venues who have kept the costs to a minimum.
This year’s Junior Camp will be 24th to 27th July, Senior Camp 30th July to 4 August, and the Advanced Camp 29th to 31st May ,with plenty of rallies and clinics to provide fun, help, encouragement and expertise for all our members through the year. All dates are on the EUSPC website calendar and do keep checking the events page: for details and to book. as we are continually adding to the list. We hope you will enjoy taking part in our 2017 programme! Places often go very quickly!
This year we are inaugurating a points system for our rallies, clinics and camps, with a trophy awarded to the most active member of EUSPC. We propose to publish a league table on the website.
I have very much enjoyed getting to know many more of you, and I look forward to seeing you at our rallies this year. I am very grateful to our hard working Committee for planning, organising and running all these events. All the committee give their time voluntarily - in fact many do not even have children at The Pony Club!
Sadly we have lost several of our Committee members this year: I would like to thank Hilary Knight, Jo Figg and Anita Stone for their work in the past. Although they are no longer serving on the Committee, they are still very active members. We welcome onto the Committee Lisa Elton and Jo Adams. The help of parents and supporters is invaluable, so please don't be afraid to contact one of the committee and get involved; we would love to have you on board, and it's great fun!
Next year, 2018, is our 50th anniversary and a Pony Club branch! Look out for our plans and special events to celebrate.
Wishing you every blessing
Fr Gerry Drummond
