Rules and Regulations for Pumpkin Chunkin 2015.
1. Registration forms must be completed, submitted and accepted no later than 9:00am on Saturday, October 17th, 2015.
2. All contestants must be present at 3:00pm for a rules presentation on Sunday, October 18th, 2015 with the official kick off at 4pm.
3. Prize details: The Grand Champion Team name will be put on a plaque in the coffee shop. Grand Champion Team will receive a trophy and hold possession of the trophy for a period of 11 months. The traveling trophy must be returned to Community of Hope church office no later than September 1st of the following year, in order to prepare for the next contest.
4. Judging will take place by community of Hope volunteers
5. Five (5) pound pumpkins will be used during the competition and will be measured by the judges.
6. Announcement of winners will be take place at 7:00pm or after contest is completed.
Contest Rules:
a. Team Captains must be 18 years of age or older. (Children and family members cannot be in pumpkin launching area, however, they can participate.)
b. Teams must build a homemade manual pumpkin chunker. No power machinery will be allowed.
c. Teams will be allowed three (3) shots at 100 feet, and choose which shot they wish to enter in the contest.
d. All pumpkins fired must remain intact until they impact the target to obtain an official measurement.
e. No part of the chunker shall cross the firing line.
f. No explosives are allowed.
g. Pumpkins are not to be altered in any way. All pumpkins must be in their natural state.
i. All chunkers must be able to re-fire within five (5) minutes.
j. Contestants MUST maintain themselves in a positive sportsman like behavior.
k. No horse play or rough housing will be allowed.
l. Each team is responsible for clean up of chunked attempts that do not land in the target area.
m. The Pumpkin Chunkin device must be portable. No digging holes or securing equipment into the ground.
n. Random inspections may be performed to assure safety. All entries will be subject to inspection.
o. This is a family-oriented event, so please act accordingly.
Failure to follow any of the rules listed above with result in termination from the activity and contest.
