1. SCOPE: Process Leaves and Passes is a 5-hour lesson. The purpose of this lesson is to examine the commander’s annual leave program requirements, chargeable leave requirements, non-chargeable leave requirements, and leave request procedures and policies.
This lesson builds on previous studies of:
· Coordinating Personnel Support.
Students will reach the following lesson outcomes through assigned readings, actively participating in class, and completing the practical exercise:
· Determine chargeable leave
· Determine non-chargeable leave
· Review DA Form 31 and Leave Control Log
2. LEARNING OBJECTIVES:
This lesson supports TLO2, Deliver Essential Personnel Services. In addition this lesson supports or reinforces the following ELOs:

Condition: Mid-grade HR Leaders in a classroom environment working individually and as a member of a small group, using doctrinal and administrative publications, practical exercises, case studies, personal experience, handouts, discussion and an awareness of the Operational Environment (OE) variables and actors.
Standard: Application includes:
1. Reviewing leave and pass policies.
2. Interpreting chargeable and no-chargeable leave.
3. Verifying leave control number and leave control log is complete and correct.
4. Verifying corrective action for chargeable leave.
