INSTRUCTIONAL PROGRAM PROPOSAL PROCEDURES

STEP 1: / Fill out Form F and get departmental conceptual agreement for program proposal.

STEP 2: / Department chairperson presents the proposal on Form F to the Curriculum Committee for feedback. Simultaneously, the chairperson sends proposal to IEC, Faculty Senate, and College Council for information and possible feedback and/or inclusion in Educational Master Plan.

Step 3: / The department chairperson presents the proposal to the Faculty Senate as an information item and conveys any suggestions, criticisms, or questions that the Senate might have to the department and/or initiator.

Step 4: / The initiator develops the proposal in detail using the “Chancellor’s Office Review Checklist” for new program applications as a guideline and presents it to the department for review and approval. As part of this step, it should also be sent to the IEC and Educational Leadership Team for information and possible comment. (The Educational Leadership Team addresses issues related to costs, funding, facilities, and staffing.)
