- Online journal articles, which are authentic and reliable.
- Go the iCentre Resources and then the EBSCODatabaseslink
- Select Australia/NZ Reference Centre; tick Aust/NZ and History. Create a new Account to save articles in folders.
- Search via key words: i.e.
- Choose Student Research Centre in Arts and Media section.
- Student Research Centre how to do a bibliography and report.
- Search in Aust/NZ Point of View
2. Encyclopaedia Britannica
- Excellent for definitions and summaries of issues
Go to the iCentre Resources and then the Encyclopaedia Britannica icon.
Choose the appropriate level
Use keywords of your issues to search (e.g.
- Click on title to get full paragraphs
- Use Harvard citation at bottom of page for bibliography
- Excellentlinks on leftfor informationin Web’s best sites and further articles in EBSCO.
3. On-line Newspapers – The West, Sydney Morning Herald
- Go to the iCentre Resources page
- Click on newspaper icons: (see above)
- Use key words of various issues to search; e.g.
4. TROVE – The National Library of Australia
- Use inverted commas to surround full term or name. Look at Archived websites.
5. Websites:
- Choose websites that are authoritative, reliable, current and unbiased.
- Search artist’s name in “inverted brackets” and also put ‘artist’ next to the name. E.g. “Fiona Hall”, artist
- Google Scholar
- Found in the ‘More’, ‘even more’ Tab at the top of the Google search page
- Information found here is far more authentic than found on usual Google
- When you choose a book: several chapters and images are included
- Google Books
- Found in the ‘More’ and ‘Even More’ tab at the top of the Google Search page
