Introduction - Element trading card
Elements are all around us in some shape or form. Use the internet as well as books to research an element and create a trading card and commercial to advertise or sell the element.
For this assignment you will be creating a trading card about the element you selected.
You must use (at least) 2 internet sources to gather your information.
You will be graded on:
· Organization – 10 pts
· Creativity/artistic– 5 pts
· Content – 30 pts
*Trading card is set in the format and dimensions described. [21.5 cm x 21.5 cm]
Front page should include:
1. Element name
2. Element symbol
3. Atomic number
4. Atomic mass
5. Picture or drawing of the element that artistically interprets the element.
Inside page should include:
1. The following physical properties
a. State at room temperature
b. Metal/non-metal/metalloid
c. Colour
d. Density
e. Melting point
f. Boiling point
2. At least one unusual or interesting chemical property or physical property not yet mentioned
*you may include other chemical properties.
3. At least 3 compounds that use the element (chemical name and chemical formula)
4. Uses of the element (either in its pure form, in compound form, or in mixture form)
5. Bohr-Rutherford diagram
6. Who discovered the element (What country? When?)
*You may include how it was named if it is interesting / unusual.
7. Source of the element (Where do we get it from?)
Back page should include:
1. Your name
2. Class/period

· Includes clearly designated and easy-to-follow content sections / /2
