Shoqata e Radio Amatoreve te Kosoves (SHRAK)

Proposed for IARU Membership

An application for IARU membership has been received via IARU Region 1 from the Shoqata e Radio Amatoreve te Kosoves (SHRAK). The application has been examined by the Region 1 Executive Committee and has been found to satisfy the requirements of the Constitution and Bylaws of the IARU.
Based in Pristina, Republic of Kosovo, SHRAK was formally organized on 14 April 2000.

There are 65 licensed members of the Society out of a total amateur population of approximately 85.

The President and the Secretary of SHRAK have confirmed that Shoqata e Radio Amatoreve te Kosoves (SHRAK)has the ability to meet its financial obligations as a member of the IARU, is legally able to act in the furtherance of IARU objectives within its country, and will adhere to the Constitutions of both the IARU and IARU Region 1.
Accordingly, in compliance with the Bylaws pertaining to applications for membership the following proposal is presented to member societies for consideration
Proposal No. 251

The Executive Committee of IARU Region 1 has forwarded to the Administrative Council an application for membership submitted by the Shoqata e Radio Amatoreve te Kosoves (SHRAK). Region 1 reports that it has examined the application and has found it to be in order. Region 1 has made a favorable finding with regard to the application.
Therefore, in accordance with Bylaw 3, it is proposed that the Shoqata e Radio Amatoreve te Kosoves (SHRAK) be elected to membership.
A vote sheet for Proposal No. 251 is enclosed. The closing date for receipt by the International Secretariat of votes on Proposal 251 is five months after the date of this Calendar, or 5 January 2015. Please note that votes received after this date cannot be counted.

Rwanda Amateur Radio Union (RARU)

Proposed for IARU Membership

An application for IARU membership has been received via IARU Region 1 from the Rwanda Amateur Radio Union (RARU). The application has been examined by the Region 1 Executive Committee and has been found to satisfy the requirements of the Constitution and Bylaws of the IARU.
Based in Kimironko, Gasabo District, Kigali City, Rwanda,RARU was formally organized on 11 June 2007.

There are 4 licensed members of the Society out of a total amateur population of approximately 10.

Voting Procedure for Proposal 251 and 252

The IARU Constitution requires that a member-society shall cast its vote in writing. Vote sheets must be signed by an authorized official of the member-society.
Vote sheets for Proposals 251 and 252 may be returned by any of the following methods:

3. As a PDF or similar scanned attachment to an email sent to .

Votes cast by fax or email attachment should be followed up with the original returned by postal mail for confirmation.

Member-Societies Ratify Officer Nominations

On 8 May 2014, the IARU member-societies completed voting on proposals nominating Timothy S. Ellam, VE6SH/G4HUA and Ole Garpestad, LA2RR as IARU President and Vice President, respectively, for the five-year term beginning 9 May 2014. With 51 affirmative votes required for adoption, there were 67 affirmative votes for Mr. Ellam and 67 for Mr. Garpestad.

IARU Voting Results for Proposals 249 and 250

In early December 2013, the following two proposals were offered for the consideration of the member-societies:

Proposal No. 249 The International Secretariat, following consultation with the Administrative Council and with the unanimous concurrence of the Council, nominates Timothy S. Ellam, VE6SH/G4HUA for a five-year term of office as President, IARU, commencing on 9 May 2014. This nomination is offered to the member-societies for ratification, in accordance with Article III, paragraph 3(e), of the IARU Constitution.

Proposal No. 250 The International Secretariat, following consultation with the Administrative Council and with the unanimous concurrence of the Council, nominates Ole Garpestad, LA2RR for a five-year term of office as Vice President, IARU, commencing on 9 May 2014. This nomination is offered to the member-societies for ratification, in accordance with Article III, paragraphs 3(e) and 5, of the IARU Constitution.

Voting by the IARU member-societies ended on 8 May 2014. The following 67 member-societies voted “aye” for Proposals 249 and 250. There were no abstentions and no “nays.”

Region 3: CRSA (China), HARTS (Hong Kong), ARSI (India), JARL (Japan), KARL (Republic of Korea), MARTS (Malaysia), PARS (Pakistan), SARTS (Singapore), RAST (Thailand) and VARC (Vietnam).

An “aye” vote was received on both proposals from FRC (Cuba) but it was received after the deadline and cannot be counted.
