Project on the Spanish Speaking countries

You must pick a Spanish speaking country and do a PowerPoint presentation on that country. The presentation must have a minimum of 20 slides not including the title page. Each slide must include pictures and at least 3 detailed facts about the topic (at least half a page of information). You must include in the presentation the following information in this order:

· Location of the Spanish speaking country (you can show a map)-Explain in detail where the country is located, what countries it borders, etc.

· Currency and its history (show a picture of the currency and explain in detail the importance and background of the currency (people and things on the currency, etc).

· The flag and its history (show a picture of the flag and explain the history and what the flag means)

· School (tell about what time they start & end school, courses taken, etc)

· Tourist attractions (major cities that have tourist attractions. Explain why they are tourist attractions and why they are so important) At least 3 tourist attractions must be presented from your country.

· Food & drinks (non-alcoholic) (tell about a specific city or several cities).

· Holidays (Explain different holidays celebrated in the particular country and why they are important) Explain the holidays in detail. Don’t just list them and their dates. At least 5 have to be included.

· You must include famous people from your country and explain in detail why they are famous (actress/actor (what movies they played in, singer (bring a sample of their music or movie or include it in the presentation) etc. Make sure you include 2-3 famous people on the presentation.

· You also must make a life-size flag (at least an 8X11 size, the size of a sheet of computer paper) with anything other than paper. This is where you have to be creative.

Examples that can be used to do the flag would be:

· Fabric

· Burlap (a heavy cloth)

· Foam

· Denim

· Art board (canvas)

· Wood

· Duct tape

***Reminder: if you decide to make a flag out of food, only two (2) per class is allowed.

If you go to any craft store, I am sure you will be able to use your imagination and be creative with the things that are there.

You can add any other information that you like for your presentation. But the presentation must include the topics listed above in the order stated.

**Make these presentations creative and have fun doing them. This is how you will be graded:

Creativity & Presentation 50%

· Graphics and pictures used on Power Point slides

· How well you used your creativity to organize your presentation

· How colorful the presentation is and the uniqueness of the presentation

· How well you retrieved data

· How well you organized and presented your presentation

· How well you followed directions for your presentation

Handmade Flag 50%

· Must look like the country’s flag and not be made out of paper

· Must present flag to class

· ****Library time will be provided to do extensive research on the presentation.

This project will be counted three times. 10 extra points will be given on the presentation day if you dress up. Due dates will be given out at another time. They are chosen randomly based on the given dates.
