Volunteer Role Description

Solace Women’s Aid is an independent charity providing services to women and children who have been victims of domestic and /or sexual violence.

Role Title: / Admin Volunteer
Service: / Islington SASS
Work Place Supervisor: / A member of the Islington Staff Team
Location: / Head Office
Commitment: / 1-3 days a week
Duration: / 3-12 months
Role Description: / Exciting opportunity to assist our Islington SASS team with administrative task to include inputting information on our OnTrack database, contacting clients and completing an exit interview questionnaire with them, assisting with answering calls on our duty line and general admin duties. Assisting team members with general administration.
The role requires good IT skills. Good listening and interpersonal skills.
Full support will be given to help volunteers understand and carry out any aspect of the role as appropriate.
Benefits to the volunteer: / The volunteer will be part of our Advocacy and Support team and will be included in any relevant training and induction sessions run for volunteers and also any training relevant to their role. The volunteer will acquire skills and insight into supporting women and children suffering from domestic abuse across all risk levels.
Skills and Qualifications Required: / Good IT skills. Good listening skills and interpersonal skills. Communication and literacy skills.
Training Opportunities: / Volunteers will be able to access Solace Women’s Aid’s induction and internal training programme for volunteers. Full support will be given to help volunteers understand and carry out any aspect of the role as appropriate.
