2.Dr. Kamal K. ParwalMedical Superintendent, BhagatHospital

3.Dr. Rachna Pahuja Ex, R.M.O., BhagatHospital

Complainant failed to appear inspite of notice.

The Delhi Medical Council notes that patient Shri Gulshan Arora presented himself at BhagatHospital on 15th November, 2009 with complaint of right sided chest pain. Dr. Rachna Pahuja at BhagatHospital attended him and E.C.G. was done. E.C.G was reported as S.T. elevation in lead III. The patient was given tablet Ecosporin and other medicines and advised admission as per prescription slip, however, on alleged refusal of admission by the patient’s attendants, the patient was advised to follow up in O.P.D. Ms. Bhawna Arora in her complaint denies that admission was recommended by doctor on duty, however, Dr. Rachna Pahuja and Medical Director, BhagatHospital maintained, that attendant refused the admission. The Delhi Medical Council observes that

as per prescription slip dated 15/11/09 of BhagatHospital, admission was advised, however, there is no mention of the same being refused by the patient or his attendants. Delhi Medical Council further notes that E.C.G showed finding of acute coronary event and tablet Ecosporin was given. If patient would have been admitted, he could have been examined by some cardiologist/physician and observed and treated accordingly. Although treatment given and advised appears to be less aggressive, there does not appear to be any medical negligence in the treatment administered.

.

In light of the observation made hereinabove, it is the decision of Delhi Medical Council that no medical negligence can be attributed on the part of doctors of BhagatHospitalin the treatment administered to complainant’s father late Gulshan Arora.

Complaint stands disposed.
