Competition-Development – Wrestling Specific Module Course
(Pilot Course)

Renfrew, Ontario.
Wrestling Canada is launching the Competition-Development Wrestling training modules for coaches looking to upgrade beyond the Competition-Introduction phase of coach training.
These courses will be of interest to:
- Coaches who have completed certification at the Competition-Introduction level and are looking to move up.
- Coaches who have done their Multi-Sport Comp/Dev modules and are pursuing full training leading to certification in Comp/Dev.
- Partially certified Level 3 coaches that did not completed the Level 3 Technical.
Course details:
Location: Coco Jarry's Restaurant314 Raglan St S, Renfrew, ON K7V 1R5.
Cost: $200.00 (includes materials, all meals and accommodations are the coach’s responsibility).

NCCP Competition Development TRAINING- REQUIREd steps
Competition-Development is the next stage of NCCP beyond Competition-Introduction and replaces the old Level 3 NCCP which is no longer offered. To become Competition-Development certified, coaches must be fully certified Competition-Introduction and will be required to:
1. Complete all of the following Multi-Sport Modules- can be taken through provincial coaching body (Coaches Association of Ontario)
1. Coaching and Leading Effectively
2. Developing Athletic Abilities
3. Leading Drug Free Sport
4. Managing Conflict
5. Prevention and Recovery
6. Psychology of Performance
7. Managing a Sport Program (Multi-Sport module currently in development)
2. Complete all of the following Wrestling Sport Specific Modules- can be taken through provincial Wrestling body (OAWA) or direct with Wrestling Canada when offered.
1. Performance Planning (Approx. 8 hours)
2. Planning a Practice 2 (Approx. 3 hours)
3. Analyzing Performance (Approx. 9 hours)
Note: hours listed are approximate hours for the Wrestling Specific modules.
3. Other – complete the following on line with the Coaches Association of Canada
- Make Ethical Decisions (MED)- Competition Development on-line evaluation
Note: This is a different MED than you would have completed for the Competition/Introduction course level.
4. Complete a Competition/Development Evaluation

Please be aware that current fully certified Level 3 coaches do not need to take the wrestling or Multi-Sport courses to be considered Competition Development coaches once WCL completes the transition. All fully certified Level 3 coaches (that have ALL technical, practical and theory) will become Competition Development coaches once WCL receives final approval from the Coaches Association of Canada (CAC), provided that they have successfully completed their "Make Ethical Decisions- Competition Development” online evaluation. They will then have to accumulate professional development points (30 over 5 years) to maintain their certified status.
Partially certified Level 3 coaches that have not completed the Level 3 Technical piece will need to complete the Comp Dev Wrestling specific modules.
