Job Title:Project Manager (Marketing andCommunications)
Hours:Full Time / 37 hours a week
Salary:£25,000 per annum
Contract Length:Fixed term until 31st March 2018 with possible 3 year extension subject to external funding

Job Purpose: To lead on the Marketing and Communicationsfor the Sports Partnership ensuring that the work and role of the partnership is communicated in an effective, efficient and positive manner and that the use of insight is used to develop appropriate and targets messages.
Key Tasks:
- To develop and implement a comprehensive Marketing & Communications strategy and delivery plan
- To ensure the correct and effective implementation of the Sports Partnership Herefordshire & Worcestershire brand and coordinate the development of all brand collateral to achieve good brand/organisational awareness
- Ensure effective promotion of community sports programmes through local networks, local media and digital channels.
- Promote the positive impact of Sport England funded programmes across the two counties
- Be responsible for developing, co-ordinating, updating and monitoring all communication channels including website and social media.
- To work with the team to develop and implement communications strategies and campaigns for programmes, projects and events.
- To promote the benefits of and opportunities to take part in sport and physical activity in innovative and appealing ways, including the ongoing development of the online activity search
- To create and distribute regular, effective and appropriate communications including newsletters, e-bulletins and printed media
- To develop and maintain strong relationships with local and regional media and to ensure regular and appropriate press releases are circulated to media contacts promoting the partnership, its programmes, initiatives and partners/funders.
- To respond to all media enquiries in a timely manner
- To identify and disseminate examples of best practise
- To provide marketing and communications support and training to the core team.
- Develop sponsorship proposals and commercial partnerships and ensure that the communications expectations are met.
- To manage and deliver the Annual Sports Awards evening.
- To work with the core team to facilitate key events.
- To undertake any other appropriate duties commensurate with the post as determined by the Head of Business, Chief Executive or Chair of the Board
General:
- The Project Manager (M&C) will be expected to:
- Work a 37 hour week
- Work outside normal working hours, if required, which will include evening and weekend work.
- Travel outside the County to attend development training and co-ordination days, where required.
- The post holder will be expected to promote and maintain the Partnerships Equal Opportunities Policy.
- To ensure communication between all partners.
- To promote the sharing of good practice.
- To attend other meetings as may be required by the post.
Health and Safety:
- To be responsible for herself/himself and others in accordance with the Health and Safety at Work etc. Act 1974.
- The postholder will also be expected to promote the Partnerships policies and procedures on health and safety
Child Protection:
- The post does not require contact with persons under 18 years of age in a supervisory role.
- The post requires collection of information about children taking part in activities.
- The post requires carrying out risk assessments on activities/facilities relating to children’s events.
- The post involves establishing operating procedures within the section that impact on children’s events.

Person Specification
Job Title: Project Manager (Marketing, Insight and Communications)
Attributes / Essential / Desirable / EvidenceEducation, training and qualifications / A marketing or communications related degree, CIM qualification or related qualification with significant work experience / Proven track record in a similar posts.
Evidence of continuous professional development.
Membership of an appropriate professional body (e.g., CIM, CIPR) / Application form and interview
Relevant experience / Experience of using a range of marketing and communications applications and processes to support service delivery
Experience of maintaining and developing website content and social media including daily updating and content management
Experience of creating a range of documents such as newsletters, press releases, announcements for a range or audiences
Understanding of digital marketing/social media
Working with traditional media (broadcast and Print) to maximise publicity opportunities.
Writing and production of corporate literature
Experience of developing sponsorship proposals and generating income / Experience of working in the Sports Sector
Knowledge of related national, regional and sub-regional strategies for key organisations such as Sport England, National Governing Bodies of sport, Department of Health.
Budget Management
Knowledge and understanding of working with Local Authorities/governmental organisations
Experience of Event Management
Experience of brand and website redesign
Experience of using technology to create marketing and communications resources e.g. Digital camera, sound recorder, video camera) / Application form and Interview
Skills/Ability / Good organisational skills with an ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines
Project planning, organisation and presentation skills
Up to date IT skills and knowledge.
Excellent ability to communicate both orally and in writing with attention to detail
Able to work effectively on own initiative and cooperatively as part of a team / Knowledge of design software (e.g. Adobe design studio)
