Jacket, hat for Skipper:
Yarn: Green and orange - 100% cotton 8/4
2 mm knitting needles
Gauge: 32 sts and 44 rows with 100% cotton 8/4 and 2 mm knitting needles
= approx. 10 cm x 10 cm
Jacket
Start with the right front piece, seen from the front:
Cast on 15 sts with green and work 3 rows garter stitch.
Continue with:
Row 1: K 15
Row 2: K 4, P 11
Repeat rows 1 and 2 until work measures 12 cm.
Cast off for neck like this:
Row 3: K 15
Row 4: Cast off 3 sts, K 1, P 11
Row 5: K 12
Row 6: Cast off 1 st, P 11
Row 7: K 11
Row 8: Cast off 1 st, P 10
Place the work aside.
Work the other part the same, but in the opposite direction.
Join together the two parts like this:
Row 9: Right side, work the right front piece, 10 sts, cast on 5 new sts,
work the left front piece, 10 sts = 25 sts
Row 10: Purl stitch
Row 11: K 25
Row 12: Purl stitch
Repeat rows 11 and 12 until back piece is as long as the front piece before the 3 knit stitch rows.
End with 3 rows knit stitch.
Cast off.
Sleeves:
Pick up 24 sts with green, from right side, of the middle 6 ½ cm, along one side.
Work stockinette stitch:
At 2 cm, 3, ½ cm, 5 cm, decrease 1 st on each side, inside edge stitch = 18 sts
When sleeve measures 6 cm, end with 3 rows knit stitch.
Cast off.
Work the other sleeve the same.
Collar:
Pick up 24 sts, with orange, around neck, from wrong side, and work:
from jacket right side = collar wrong side:
Row 1: K 2, P 20, K 2
Row 2: K 2, increase 1 st, K 20, increase 1 st, K 2
Row 3: K 2, P 22, K 2
Row 4: K 2, increase 1 st, K 22, increase 1 st, K 2
Row 5: K 2, P 24, K 2
Row 6: K 2, increase 1 st, K 24, increase 1 st, K 2
Rows 7, 8, 9: Knit stitch
Cast off.
Pocket:
Cast on 8 sts with orange and work 3 rows garter stitch.
Continue with stockinette stitch until work measures 2 cm.
Cast off.
Make into a pocket.
Sew the pockets on the jacket.
Sew the jacket together at sides and sleeves.
Sew on snaps.
Attach orange fake buttons.
Belt:
Cast on 70 sts with orange and work 1 row knit stitch.
Cast off.
Sew belt loops at the sides.with green, for the belt
Hat:
Cast on 34 sts with green.
Row 1: Purl stitch
Rows 2, 4, 6: Knit stitch
Rows 3, 5, 7: Purl stitch
Change to orange and work:
Rows 8, 10: Knit stitch
Rows 9, 11: Purl stitch
Change to green and work:
Rows 12, 14: Knit stitch
Rows 13, 15: Purl stitch
Change to orange and work:
Rows 16, 18: Knit stitch
Rows 17, 19: Purl stitch
Change to green and work:
Row 20: Knit stitch
Row 21: Purl stitch
Pull yarn through stitch.
Sew hat seams together.
