Dear Eighth Grade Parents and Guardians,
Welcome to your child’s final year at St. Luke School. The year is in full swing as the students begin their projects for the History Fair and prepare for the high school entrance and placement exams. It is a very exciting year and we are honored to be part of this special time.
This year graduation will take place on Friday, June 1st. at 7:00 pm. The 8th grade field trip to Great America is scheduled for Wednesday, May 30th. Attached is an updated calendar highlighting graduation events; we have included the traditional dress code for each date.
This year our Confirmation candidates will be attending Holy Fire at the UIC Pavilion on October 20th. Eighth graders who are not being confirmed will be excused from school on October 20th. Only the 8th grade classes are cancelled on October 20th; other students will be dismissed at 11:30 am due to Parent-Teacher Conferences.
This is both an exciting and stressful time for your student. We appreciate your support as we continue to prepare this class for graduation and high school. Our theme this year, “We are One Body, One Body in Christ,” is especially appropriate as we navigate this last year. Please help us to emphasize to our students the need for acceptance and respect for their classmates and teachers. It is important that each St. Luke student demonstrates responsibility for his behavior and class work.
We look forward to these upcoming events. Please contact us with any questions.
Thank you,
Mrs. Dabbelt and Mrs. Gleason
