Part I: Plan the Goal-Setting Process (10 points)

Example: I will build a model ship to improve my mental health and bring it to class on Oct. 18th. I will complete this goal by building for 30 minutes each day and providing weekly photos to my teacher.
STEP 2
a. List all of the people who will help you with this goal?
b. In addition to helpers, you need one or two adults to agree to supervise you, encourage you, and check your progress. Please make sure the supervisor knows that your goal might require daily supervision and progress checks. Explain this assignment to them, and ask them if they would be willing to help you. If yes, please type their name(s) below. Later you will print out your weekly checkpoint page and have your Adult Supervisor sign it.

STEP 3
a. Plan the steps to reach your goal. Brainstorm a list of everything you must do to achieve your goal. Include all aspects of your goal planning.
STEP 4
Obstacles / How you will overcome each obstaclea. Describe the obstacles that may prevent you from reaching your goal and the way you plan to overcome each obstacle.
STEP 5
a. Break your long-term goal into 4 weeks of daily or weekly checkpoints. In the chart below, identify the strategies you will use and the achievement you will see for each the 4 checkpoints.

Once these are complete get them approved by your teacher. These are the basis for your weekly checkpoints and it is VERY important that they are VERY detailed and well written. Once teacher-approved, paste into the document on Moodle called “Goal Setting Weekly Checkpoints” (day 1 or day 2).
STEP 6 – Reward & Reflect
a. What will be your reward if you achieve your goal? (Keep in mind that the reward can be the feeling you get when you reach the goal. Also, your reward should never sabotage or negate the purpose of the goal).

b. Prepare a Goal Setting Keynote or Power Point Presentation for your goal (Both templates are available on Moodle). Be prepared to present to the class on May 25th (day 1) and May 26th (day 2). Consider taking weekly photos or video clips of your goal to include in your final presentation.
