A meeting open to the public was held prior to the regular meeting. Guests present were John Olsen, RT AA Boys Division Head Coach, and Jill Wilson, President of the Rockaway Township Soccer Club. John requested that his younger son be allowed to play on the AA Div team with his older son. The request was made because the younger son is a Travel Player and RVSL By Laws prohibit Travel Players from participating in the Recreation league. Jill spoke on John’s behalf claiming that this would be the only opportunity for the two brothers to play on the same Soccer team. Arguments for and against were made by several parties and the vote to make an exception for this specific case was as follows: Yes from every most towns/clubs attending the meeting with the only No coming from Mt Arlington.
Also in attendance was Marc Cicalese and Carl Halter from the Mt Olive Soccer Club. They requested to join the RVSL and allow an AA Division Girls team to participate this Spring. A motion was passed to allow MTO to join RVSL by Mt Arlington and seconded by Rockaway Township and Mine Hill. All members present voted yes to allow this.
Also present was Joe Burns from Long Valley who informed the Board to keep Keith Shultis on the record as a Long Valley representative, including him in all things.
Treasurer – Bert Anty not present. He reported via Christine $3812.52on account. Two checks submitted raised this to $4238.52 dollars.
Referee Report –Rich Herbison present. Rich said that any Rec teams wishing to participate in the Hackettstown Blast Tournament could do so by being carded under US Soccer. The tournament included up to U-19.

These were forwarded to Kevin Hayes and posted on the RVSL website.
Old Business – None noted, but last meeting a vote was passed to increase the number of subs which needs to make it into the By-Laws. This will be covered at the upcoming training sessions.
New Business – The RVSL Age Chart was addressed by Brian Finn and Rich Herbison. Questions were raised about eligibility starting on October 1 when other Leagues use August 1. A Motion was put forward by Wharton to do what the state of New Jersey does. The motion must now be read again at the next meeting with a vote coming at the following meeting. This would put any change into effect for Fall 2014.
One concern is players being carded from Fall and turning 18 before the next Spring Season making them legal adults on a field with minors. It was still suggested by some that the Soccer Season be considered to include the Fall and Spring regardless.
Motion to adjourn by Mine Hill, 2nd by Rockaway Township.
Next Meeting 03/25/14 8:00 pm at Mine Hill Civic Center 12 Baker Street following the first Coaches Class.
