K-12 LESSON PLAN SITES
Finding lesson plans on the Internet is extremely easy to do. The key is sorting through the thousands available and finding the ones that are suitable to your classroom, curriculum and students. There are three types of lesson plans that are available on the net.
Basic Lesson Plans
These are lesson plans that are written for teachers. They are intended for teachers to use with their students. They do not depend on a live Internet connection to do the lesson. They are a great way to generate ideas for your next
lesson.
Interactive Lesson Plans
These are lesson plans that are written for teachers to use with their students. Each lesson includes the information to do a lesson and the links to further the
lesson using additional Internet sites.

students use comes from links to sites on the Internet.

Dealing with Linkrot
A common problem with WebQuests is linkrot. This occurs because many people don't update their WebQuests regularly. Most WebQuests are developed in college courses and professional development workshops, then forgotten. If you find a good WebQuest
with broken links, create your own resources page.

SCAVENGER HUNT SITES
There are two types of Scavenger Hunts
Treasure Hunt
This type of scavenger hunt is designed for students with computer & Internet skills. The creator develops a series of questions or requests using key words and students use a search engine to locate sites that have the answers.
(I find these to be the least useful for elementary students).
Guided Tours
This type of scavenger hunt uses several Internet sites that have been researched by the creator. The creator finds web sites related to the chosen topic and creates
a list of questions and the URLs where students can find the answers.
