RIVERS MINOR HOCKEY MEETING – APRIL 24, 2018
14 in attendance include: Josh Tait, Gary Pomeroy, Gerald and Corina Lepp, Andrea Munz, Doug Cripps, Trevor Peters, Marnie Henry, Krystal and Derek Huston, Lindsey Roels, Amanda Lelond, Steve Marvin, Donna Mitchell
- Meeting was called to order at 7:30 by Darcy.
- Minutes from the fall meeting were read by Leanne. No errors or omissions. Amanda moved the minutes be accepted as read. Gary seconded.
- Treasurer report was presented by Tracey. Total revenue for 2017-2018 was $62645.12, total expenses were $62368.43 creating net income of $276.69. Lindsey accepted the treasurers report as presented; Gerald seconded.
- President’s report presented by Darcy:
a)Overall a good year; no midget team due to H.S team forming; staffing process went well and will continue; discussion about possible 3rd Atom roster being established solely for the purpose of TOC, Provincials etc.; reffing went well with the exception of a concern about having only 1 official instead of 2 officials for girls games; will have to clarify how ref is to be paid if in the future there is only 1 ref instead of 2; volunteers in canteen seemed to go well; donation letters were overlooked and unfortunately sent out late, RMH is very grateful for the donations that were made; average of 14 -16 kids attended Breakfast Club weekly; successful hockey pool; ongoing discussion regarding Zamboni tires and sound system for the whole complex
MOTIONby Corina, seconded by Gary that RMH donate $1000 towards the cost of Zamboni tires if needed. CARRIED
MOTION by Amanda, seconded by Andrea that RMH match Can Skate donation of $1500 for Sound System for the complex. CARRIED
MOTION by Lindsey, seconded by Steve that if need be RMH loans Rivers Curling Club $5000 from cash on hand to be repaid no later than 2020. This loan would be used to top up funds required for purchase of sound system for complex. CARRIED
b)Yellowhead Spring Meeting held April 16th……looking for ideas on how to run Provincial playoff placements better; Rising Stars, Rising Stars Plus and Directors Cup all went well; female hockey program is strong; Mike Kyle is contact for Coaching Clinics in our region; goalie coaching clinics may be offered; AAA programs went well; looking at adding in a Female AAA Bantam Program; may be trending towards having a spring registration period in the future
c)Parkissimo Spring Meeting held April 4th…..may consider having a separate team managers “scheduling” meeting; there will be a 5 goal limit per Novice player for league and playoffs games; Virden asked to put an “A” team in Parkissimo; discussion had regarding playoff structure; Tri Valley (Foxwarren/ St. Lazare/Rossburn) had Parkissimo books for 2018-2019.

Squirts from $205 to $215
Novice from $275 to $290
Atom from $295 to $310
Peewee from $310 to $325
Bantam from $330 to $345
Midget from $355 to $375 CARRIED
b)Online registration will take place August 23rd to September 6th
c)Summer Activities include:
Laxdal Camp (July 30 – Aug 3)
Goalie School (Aug 6 – Aug 10)
Female only 2 day hockey school (Aug 13 – 14)
Sports Dinner – June 15
d)MOTIONby Lindsey, seconded by Gary that RMH not do Epact for 2018-2019 season. Should be a savings of approximately $400. CARRIED
