Information on a Short Stay Schengen Visa
Family members of EU citizens
PLEASE NOTE:
The foreign spouse or family member of an EU national may enter Greece withouta visa if they are in possession of:
•a valid travel document, that is recognised by the Greek Authorities;
•a valid residency permit (GNIB card) with the endorsement "4EUFam" (this endorsement is compulsory in order to be visa exempt);
•and if they are traveling with the EU national spouse or family member.
ATTENTION: The Embassy of Greece to Ireland recommends having marriage certificate while traveling to Greece.
If you do not satisfy the above conditions, you will need to apply for a visa to travel to Greece.
1.A COMPLETED APPLICATION FORM, which must be signed and dated at the Embassy.
2.Recent passport sized PHOTOGRAPH
3.PASSPORT/TRAVEL DOCUMENT Validity must exceed that of your stay in the Schengen area by at least three months. The passport must have been issued (not extended) in the last 10 years. The passport must have at least two blank pages.
4.IRISH RE-ENTRY VISA Validity must exceed that of your stay in the Schengen area by at least three months.
5.IRISH RESIDENCE PERMIT/GNIB Card Validity must exceed that of your stay in the Schengen area by at least three months.
6.PROOF OF CURRENT ADDRESS IN IRELAND
(ESB bill, telephone bill, gas bill, bank statement, rent book, lease agreement etc.)
7.MARRIAGE CERTIFICATE
Marriage certificate is a proof of your relation to the EU citizen. If the marriage certificate is not issued by EU member state competent authorities, it must have legalization or Apostille stamp on it and be translated to Greek or English (if issued in other languages).
8.YOUR SPOUSE’S ORIGINAL PASSPORT.
9. RETURN TICKET
Upon application: confirmed print out of your flight/ferry/rail/bus itinerary, including return ticket(s).
