ALTA BADIA

LA DOLOMITICA

Lifestyle and gastronomy: a successful combination. This gastronomic event, held at the foot of the Fanes-Senes-Braies Natural Park in the Dolomites, a UNESCO World Heritage, will be held on Friday 4th August and it is a collaboration between restaurateurs from Alta Badia and their friends from several Italian regions.

Alta Badia (South Tyrolean Dolomites/Italy) – The ‘Sas Dlacia’, which is Ladin for “ice rock”, will provide the backdrop to the third edition of LA DOLOMITICA, Italy’s most star-spangled picnic, organised in Alta Badia.

This culinary event is the result of a collaboration between the top chefs and restaurateurs of Alta Badia and their cooking friends from several Italian regions. Among the Alta Badia hosts there are Norbert Niederkofler (Restaurant St. Hubertus at the Relais & Chateaux Hotel Rosa Alpina in San Cassiano/Alta Badia, 2 Michelin stars) and Matteo Metullio (Restaurant La Siriola at Hotel Ciasa Salares in San Cassiano/Alta Badia). The list of local chefs continues with Andrea Irsara (Gourmet Hotel Gran Ander), Giuseppe Gravela (Restaurant La Gana at Hotel Cristallo), Massimo Busin (Hotel Sassongher), Simon Tirel (Hotel Diana) and Andrea Bedin (Hotel Col Alto). The group of chefs from the other Italian regions is represented by Matthias Pescollderungg (Restaurant zum Mohren), Riccardo Gaspari (Restaurant San Brite), Sergio Mei (Ambassador Restaurant San Pietro) and Matteo Monti (Restaurant Rebelot del Pont).

This gastronomic event in the heart of the Dolomites will take place on Friday 4th August, from midday onwards. The 11 chefs cooking for the event will be presenting a gourmet menu, characterised by the best genuine Italian products. The aim is to highlight the strong links to the territory, which is what brings all of the participating chefs together. There couldn’t be a more suitable location for this culinary event than the magnificent pastures at the foot of the Fanes-Senes-Braies Natural Park in the Dolomites, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. In order for visitors to understand the important relationship with surrounding nature and the Dolomite mountain range, they will be able to try a range of dishes, sitting nice and comfortably on blankets around the neighbouring meadows, just like a real picnic.

The price for 11 dishes is €78.00 for adults and €36.00 for kids until 12 years, drinks included. Prior booking is required at the Alta Badia tourist information offices.
