Christian Education 12
Mr. Dharmasetia—Rm. 208
Course Overview
Christian Education 12 may be the last formal religious education you receive. It is important that we review the essentials of Christian faith and life together before you set out upon your own journeys in life. The main focus is a combination of exegesis, theology, philosophy, scrutiny of current events, and self-analysis.
Christian Education 12 is also your last religion class before many of you enter post-secondary institutions. To prepare you for the challenges you will face there, the methodology of this course will be slightly more challenging than before. I will present you the material through lectures and note-taking as usual, but discussion and understanding will be dependent on your effort. If you don’t ask questions, I’ll assume you understand the material and move on. If you don’t pay attention, you’ll be left behind to scramble on your own.
There are also supplemental readings that will be provided on the website and/or distributed in class. Some times they will be read in class; other times you will be on your own. It will be your responsibility to keep up
Organization:
It will be your responsibility to be prepared for class. Bring pens, pencils, and paper. Organize your binder in any way you wish, but it is recommended that you have three sections in it: one for notes, one for handouts, and one for your written assignments.
Your Bibles are an important text for this course, especially for Unit 2. They should be left in the classroom. If you need a Bible for homework, I suggest that you have one at home or use the internet with the following URL:
