Kyokushin Challenge 2015
International Knockdown Karate Tournament
IKO Matsushima, Washington Kyokushin Karate Association and Kyokushin Seattle are proud to announce the 14th Annual Kyokushin Challenge Knockdown and Kata Tournament to be held May 2nd, 2015 at the Renton Community Center. This premier knockdown event is open to all martial artists from around the world.
Date:
May 2, 2015 10am-6pm; Doors open at 8:30am

Format:
Knockdown Division:
Traditional bare knuckle knockdown with no padding (no gloves, shin pads, body padding, or head gear). Mouth guard and protective cup required. There will be divisions for Adult Men and Women, also Senior Divisons (35+) for Men and Women.
Semi-Contact Division:
Children and Youths up to 18 years old only. Padded hands and shins, head gear, mouth guard and protective cup required. Body padding not allowed
Note: *Fabric non-plastic chest protection allowed for females; subject to tournament organizer approval. All equipment is subject to center referee and tournament organizer approval, who reserve the right to enforce equipment fairness for all competitors.
Divisions may be adjusted due to number of participants entered.
Kata Dvision:
There will be two divisions for adult and junior kata competition. Novice (below brown belt) and Advanced (brown and black belts). Kata will be a top 4 competition, the top 4 from the first round will perform in a second round for placement of awards.
Entry Fees:
Early Bird Registration: $25 – before Jan 31, 2015
Pre- Registration: Before April 25, 2015 – Kata $25, Kumite $35, Both $45,
Senior Division Kumite $25 (Men’s and Women’s), add Kata $35
Day and week of: Kata $35, Kumite $50, both $60
Payments can be by Paypal or Check (must arrive before appropriate deadline).
Day of tournament payments cash or check only.
Spectators: $5
Coaches: one coach per dojo admitted free, two coaches for teams over 5 competitors.
Awards:
Trophies for 1st-3rd place all divisions
Spirit award for most inspirational male and female competitor

Sayonara Party:
There will be a Sayonara party after the tournament at the Renton Eagles club. All ages welcome. There will be food and beverage available for purchase.
