DMI Awards Milk &Dairy Product Scholarships
Denmark, WI. The National Dairy Shrine is pleased to announce the winners of the NDS/DMI Milk and Dairy Product Scholarships for 2017.
NDS / DMI Milk Marketing & Dairy Products Scholarships are generous scholarships made possible by Dairy Management Inc. and NDS to encourage students to pursue careers in dairy product or milk marketing,dairy product development and/or quality control or similar roles in the dairy & food industries.
Trent Dado, of Amery, Wisconsin has been awarded the NDS/ DMI Milk & Dairy Products top scholarship of $1500. Trent is an Animal Science major at the University of Minnesota. Mr. Dado has been involved in the Gopher Dairy Club, Farm House Fraternity, NAMA, and the Agriculture Education Club. Trent plans to pursue a career in business and research to improve the demand for milk products. Additionally, four other undergraduate students have been awarded $1000 scholarships.
Those scholarship recipients are Jill Seiler of Valley Center, Kansas who is majoring in Animal Science Communications & Marketing at Kansas State University. Jill is serving as a Kansas State Agricultural ambassador and has been a leader in the KSU Dairy Science Club, NAMA, Agricultural Communicators of Tomorrow and the Kansas Junior Holstein Association. Ms. Seiler plans a career in communication & dairy promotion. Laura Jensen of Comstock, Wisconsin is attending the University of Minnesota majoring in Animal Science. Laura has been active in the Gopher Dairy Club, Beta of Clovia Sorority, Guernsey Youth Associations and served as a college Ambassador. Laura plans to attend graduate school in a dairy related discipline. Next is, Kristin Erf, of Oakdale, Minnesota who is attending South Dakota State University and majoring in Dairy Manufacturing has been a leader in the SDSU Dairy Club serving as Secretary and active in 4-H & FFA. She is on the college swimming team as well. Kristin plans a career in dairy product manufacturing. The last recipient is Meghan Skiba from Cambridge, Minnesota who is attending the University of Wisconsin-Madison and majoring in Dairy Science. Meghan has been active in the Association of Women in Agriculture, Sigma Alpha, Badger Dairy Club and is a Junior member of the Minnesota and National Jersey Associations. In the future, Meghan will be using her marketing and communication skills working in the dairy industry.
